With my team(from below in the sig) being set at more or less every position, I´m looking to add maybe the final piece of the puzzle... a big time LBer beside Ray Lewis. That being said.. the best IDP(Patrick Willis) scored 184 points last season(Beason 166.5 pts) and being 46th overall in scoring with that.
Scoring: Tackles 1 pt, sacks/Int 4 pts
Offensive standart scoring.
That being said.. it would need to be one of the top options at that position.. Patrick Willis or Jon Beason. Those two are on the same team and he needs a WR badly.
I will not part ways with Fitz,Jennings,Crabtree and Dez Bryant.. but I´d consider moving Hakeem Nicks for Willis, maybe Beason.
Would you do this considering the state of my team, the potential offensive players have compared to IDP´s?
Looking for possibly the last piece of the puzzle..

Re: Looking for possibly the last piece of the puzzle..
Getting a top LB would be nice, but I don't think I would part with Nicks right now. Nicks should be worth more then the LB shortly.
Thomas Howard has limited value now with Trevor Scott playing the weak side.
I'd go bargin shopping for a guy with a lot of upside like DeAndre Levy. For some reason everyone in my leagues is way down on Kirk Morrison.... yes he's getting older, but he's going to be a MLB for the Jags and getting lots of tackles. I really like Daryl Washington, but I'm not sure he's going to get you the help you're looking for until late this year or next year.

Re: Looking for possibly the last piece of the puzzle..
I am not sure Hicks alone would be enough to get a LB of that quality.
I play in a league where LBs score like #1 LBs. Willis (307pts) finished just outside of the top overall for scoring. He was around MJD (305pts) and ADP (306pts). CJ scored like over 400 pts as the top scorer.
Anyhow I traded for Willis this offseason and had to give up Colston and Lamaar Woodley to get him, this was from a 49er fan who didnt want to give him up. I could easily afford to do this as I already had Fitz, Crabtree and I drafted Dez Bryant as well
What I am saying though is that if the league scoring means top LBs score very well you will almost have to pay stud like RB/WR prices for them.

OP already stated that Willis was the #1 LB and ranked 46th overall in the scoring system...gaz29 wrote:What I am saying though is that if the league scoring means top LBs score very well you will almost have to pay stud like RB/WR prices for them.
Seeing that the scoring system does not favor IDP scoring, is there really a significant gap from Willis to say the 10th or 20th ranked LB? I'd certainly consider offering Nicks straight up, but I'd take that into consideration first. If IDP scoring is relatively weak is there a significant enough benefit from a top LB vs someone a bit lower?
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

I would move Nicks for either Willis or Beason straight up. You have the WR depth to allow you to make the deal and I think Nicks is being a little overvalued right now...

I like Nicks, but agree that he might be a bit overvalued seeing that his value is based on potential alone. With that in mind, it wouldn't be a bad idea to see if you can get an extra player, even if it means taking Beason over Willis. Also, it would be good to know how many WRs you start.
But looks like you'd be trading someone who is buried on your depth chart for someone that would be a bonafide starter. Anytime you can do that its usually a good deal. In this case, it would be a nice deal for both teams.

First number is the rank they have in the group of their respective position and the 2nd one is the overall rank from all players(O and D) combined, with scored points behind the names.

If you could get Willis for Nicks straight up, I would pull the trigger. Makes your starting roster better and leaves you with plenty of WRs still.
Start: 2 QB, 3 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE (All TDs=6, 1 per 10 rush/rec, 1 per 25 pass, NO PPR) 8 teams
QB: Rodgers, Vick, Cutler, Schaub, Luck
RB: Rice, CJ, McFadden, Richardson, Stewart, Ingram, Spiller, Vereen
WR: Green, Marshall, Roddy, Jennings, Roddy, Bowe, Maclin, Britt, A Brown, Williams (TB), Collie, Smith (STL)
TE: Graham, Finley, F Davis, Cook
Taxi Squad: Tebow, Crabtree, Jeffrey, Hill, Gordon

Re: Looking for possibly the last piece of the puzzle..
You should reconsider moving one of your top 4 WRs - your team is stacked, and an elite team such as yours should have an elite LB talent on it - but to move one of them, I would say you have to get Willis.BradyT wrote:With my team(from below in the sig) being set at more or less every position, I´m looking to add maybe the final piece of the puzzle... a big time LBer beside Ray Lewis. Would you do this considering the state of my team, the potential offensive players have compared to IDP´s?
I wouldn't do it straight up, of course - what does his roster look like? does he have a young TE that would be an upgrade to your #2 TE? Think along those lines -- but at any rate, I think Nicks will develop and be in Jennings' class. And you have the RB strength to go that route with your flex player as well.
Good luck, and go for the gold! Get Willis!!

Re: Looking for possibly the last piece of the puzzle..
I agree with meineymoe.
Maybe see if he'll throw Gresham in there and you could send a pick back too.
If you can't deal done for Willis, like Rourke suggested you could go after Levy. Another low cost guy could be Daryl Washington. I think he'll put up real nice numbers taking over for Dansby.
Neither is Willis or Beason, but nice fall back options if you can't land one of them.
