Frustrated if not desperate, what move to make?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Frustrated if not desperate, what move to make?

Postby Buckhill Bombers » Sat Oct 29, 2016 4:34 pm

m spoiled, I'll be the first to admit it. I'm in tons of dynasty leagues, and most of my teams I have great talent and depth (most of which is usually youth to prime and not aged vets). Then I have this roster. Absolutely hate it. If I wasn't a quitter, I would have bailed on this team already (but I won't ever do that in any league). Trying to make sure I don't make a mistake. Would love to get some feedback from you guys as to what you'd do with this. So far I've gotten a few offers, what would you guys do? This is a 12 team PPR, starting 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1 flex

Current Dump of a Roster:
Brees, Taylor, Prescott
McCoy, Dion Lewis, Matt Jones, Peyton Barber, Zenner, Starks, K. Marshall
Cooks, DeSean, Dorsett, Funchess, Agholor, Carroo, Garcon, Lafell, Royal
Gronk, Olsen, L. Green, Higbee

Other than Gronk and Cooks I have very little talent here. Offers so far

A) Give Olsen, McCoy, Garcon for Pryor, Kelce, D. Washington, J. Richard

or

B) Olsen for T. Coleman

The "A" offer does give me a few pieces that are young enough to build around, although there are questions about everyone he offered too. I like Coleman but think Olsen should bring more, as I don't see him dropping off anytime soon.

I like Coleman but agree, he may be too little for a TE that can still play.

I'd look to move Brees, McCoy, Dion Lewis, Garcon, DeSean, Starks, LaFell, Royal to contenders with injuries. I may look to move Gronk only because he can get MUCH more than Olson from many owners who start to drool at the prospect of getting them some Gronk Smash time.

I would pass on that, I think you can get more for McCoy then that
id be looking to move McCoy, brees, gronk and olsen to guys in contention... trying flipping gronk to the hunter henry owner and another piece , depending what he has to offer...
McCoys value prob is at his peak right now, and id say a contender would be willing to move some picks or young pieces for him

Not a fan of trade A. Does he have anything else that interests you? Trade B is just ok, I wouldn't blame you either way. If you were to move McCoy I think Coleman would be a decent replacement.

I like trade B more than trade A. It sounds like you are going to rebuild? If so Coleman is a good piece. I usually wouldn't advocate selling studs like Gronk but I think he'll be out of the age range to compete with him. Also he'll likely be your biggest seller. I'd try and get another WR to build around. Check the Arob owner maybe? He'd be a good buy low

Forget both trades.
You are a rebuilding team. Accept it. You are two years away. Accept it.
Trade assets that won't be of much help in two years.

Start with one move at a time.

The two players I would trade away for sure are Olsen and McCoy.
Find the neediest TE team that is on the fringe of the playoffs and start dealing hard.

Wait for McCoy to come back and play a solid game or at the very least wait until he is game ready. His value is too low right now. That will change the second a RB needy playoff team sees that he is back.

The 2017 draft is legit at the top. Don't be afraid of picks.
Grab every hot waiver wire guy you can and flip him immediately for anything of value. Check FAAB bids for whoever else bid on that player and make offers where you package that player and a medium talent on your roster for an upgrade.

Just before your trade deadline... flip Brees and point out he plays Tampa twice in the fantasy playoffs. Good luck.

Combine this with an active search to buy low on ARob or, better yet Hopkins, for Gronk and you could have the young up and coming team in you desire in two years. I agree with a previous post that Gronk will not be more valuable in two years, so reasonable offers should be considered.
