Yet another trade up for evaluation...

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which side wins?

Yet another trade up for evaluation...

Postby Steelersfan » Tue Apr 20, 2010 8:26 pm

Team A gives: Avery, Holmes, Romo, 1.5

Team B gives: Ocho Cinco, Welker, Eli, 2011 1st, 3.9

Standard scoring, PPR...

Edit.... sorry, but I'd take team B. I read it as gets instead of gives.

Ocho is a pretty big question between himself and his QB's ability to deliver. Welker might be a non-factor for much of next year and he's getting older, while Avery is young and a decent PPR piece. Eli is under valued but I'd definitly perfer Romo by a decent margin. 1.5 is worth more then 2011 first and 3.9.

I'm not a fan of ocho. team B wins by getting rid of him
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)
RB -NChubb(CLE)DHenry(TEN)JTaylor(IND)Gurley(ATL)
WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)
TE - HHenry(SD)DGoeddart(PHI)
K - Zurlien(LAR)Crosby(GB)
Def - ARI DAL
[rookie] Haskins(WAS)DSwift(DET)Jefferson(MIN)MHardman(KC)
7th pick in 2021

Rosters must always be 3qbs 4wrs 4rbs 2tes 2kickers 2dst and protected players don't take up a roster spot, but are only for rookie/2nd-year players that were drafted

i think it depends on how bad the team giving up the 2011 1st appears to be. if its likely to be a late round pick then team B for sure got the better trade
2008 Champion, 2009 runner up, 2011 champ

Team A gives: Avery, Holmes, Romo, 1.5

avery has the change to be a low 1, high 2 wr... holmes is a risk but u know what you're getting, romo is an elite QB... and the 1.5 ices it over.

avery>ocho
holmes < welker
romo > eli
1.5 = 11' 1st and 3.9 .... but making a good choice at 1.5 will make it pretty lopsided for team A ....

Low end WR1-top flight WR = top 10-18....so is Avery over Ocho based on value or production?...because Avery isnt even CLOSE to top 10-18 production.

Rebuilding has begun. I tihnk I paid a hefty price, but I couldn't find anyone to take Ocho off my hands. my team could have competed for a playoff spot (and could still if i get a wr2 or rb2 out of thomas, avery, dmc or picks 1.3 and 1.5). But I play to win championships. And between Mark, Nate, Skip, Vince and some other teams tha got seriously stacked in this league, i thought i would try and rebuild on the fly. The 2011 pick is likely to be somewhere in the middle of round 1.
DLF I Romo, Mathews, DMC, Murray, AJohnson, Welker, Wayne, Nelson, Finley
DLF II Peyton, McCoy, Ballard, DJackson, VJackson, DMoore, Welker, Gronk
DLF R Cam, AP, Foster, RWilliams, Nicks, SSmith, Floyd, Hill, Gresham, Keller
DLF U Eli, DMC, CJ2k, Sproles, Ballard, AJ Green, VJackson, Graham, Gresham

Seems like a bit of a wash to me. I think a lot of the value here depends on Welker returning to form. If he does then A wins, if he doesn't then B wins.

I think both teams made out fairly well. I feel my team is ready to compete for a championship now so I wanted to acquirer some depth at WR in case something happens to one of my big 3 at WR (Fitz, Calvin, Rice). I already have Peyton penciled in as my starter so I don't mind the downgrade from Romo to Eli. As for the picks that were involved I really don't have a pressing need at any position (Gore, Turner, Mendy, Moreno, Vernon, Carlson) so I thought it was a decent gamble to move the 1.5 for a 2011 1st from a team in rebuild mode. The pick may turn out to be very similar.

Plus there's one more important factor to consider...the team I traded with is in my division so I pretty much eliminated my main competition for the division...I hope...

I messed up, and voted team A, but I thought that is what was being recieved. So Chalk one up for team B for me.
