This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

#6 for Wallace

Postby bobbytheo3 » Mon Apr 12, 2010 8:18 am

Would you give up the 1.6 rookie pick for Mike Wallace? Non-ppr. Start 2 RB's 3 WR's.

My Key Roster players:
Peyton Manning
Ryan Grant
Marshawn Lynch
Ahmad Bradshaw
Laurence Maroney
Mike Bell
Arian Foster
Leon Washington
Steve Smith (Car)
Percy Harvin
Devin Aromashodu
Hines Ward
Early Doucet
Kellen Winslow
Fred Davis

Given your roster, I wouldn't. You only have 1 secure starter at RB in Grant. The rest are all backups until/unless Lynch is traded where he can get a starting job.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

I would not. You will be able to get a very good prospect at 1.6, not completely sold that Wallace is going to fill Holmes' shoes completely.
Start: 2 QB, 3 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE (All TDs=6, 1 per 10 rush/rec, 1 per 25 pass, NO PPR) 8 teams
QB: Rodgers, Vick, Cutler, Schaub, Luck
RB: Rice, CJ, McFadden, Richardson, Stewart, Ingram, Spiller, Vereen
WR: Green, Marshall, Roddy, Jennings, Roddy, Bowe, Maclin, Britt, A Brown, Williams (TB), Collie, Smith (STL)
TE: Graham, Finley, F Davis, Cook
Taxi Squad: Tebow, Crabtree, Jeffrey, Hill, Gordon

Yeah, the RB thing is my issue with the deal, but I like Wallace.

In a hypothetical situation where Marshawn Lynch was traded to San Diego, would you then do that deal?

Clearly I'm going to be the resident Wallace hater right now, but I wouldn't do that deal at all. Regardless of roster or where Lynch or anybody else goes.
DLF I Romo, Mathews, DMC, Murray, AJohnson, Welker, Wayne, Nelson, Finley
DLF II Peyton, McCoy, Ballard, DJackson, VJackson, DMoore, Welker, Gronk
DLF R Cam, AP, Foster, RWilliams, Nicks, SSmith, Floyd, Hill, Gresham, Keller
DLF U Eli, DMC, CJ2k, Sproles, Ballard, AJ Green, VJackson, Graham, Gresham

I think the 1.6 is a little steep.

I'd be very comfortable sending a later 1st. 1.6 would be borderline. If I were in a position of need at WR, I'd be very tempted to do it and possibly ask for a late pick back with him. Of course, I am one of the resident "trade your draft picks for players" owners.

I would jump on it, but I'm the only one around that likes Wallace apparently. I think he'll be a WR1 soon, and for years to come. I don't think the Steelers can rely soley on Mendenhall for 300+ carries, atleast not for very long, mendenhall is the next Clinton Portis, and Wallace is going to be a TD machine for years. He'll outperform Crabtree, and Harvin, I'm pretty locked in on my opinion on him, and Big Ben will be too.

WR:Jefferson,Lamb,DJMoore,QJohnston,Jameson,MMims, T.Marshall,Shakir,Gallup

I would wait till post NFL draft. Assuming the Steelers don't take a WR in the first 2 rounds I would give up the 1.6 for Wallace.

In a Non PPR scoring system this seems pretty simple and the answer is NO. Guys like Tate, Hardesty, and maybe even Dwyer will be there at 1.6 and will give much better value given the scoring system.

I never take rosters into affect that early in a draft....BPA always.
