Trying for Witten.....

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trying for Witten.....

Postby Who Dey~Cincy » Sat Apr 10, 2010 3:41 pm

This is my team in a 12 team league.... we start 1-2-3-1 and we are a non-PPR league.

This is my team:

QB-Rivers, Cassel
RB-Moreno, Greene, Stewart, Benson, M.Bush, Ward, C.Williams, Buckhalter
WR-White, D. Jackson, Bowe, Nicks, Wallace, Bess
TE-Zach Miller (OAK)

Picks: 1.3,1.5

I feel like my team has a decent shot this year after going just 6-7 while winning the last 3 weeks of the season.

I think something I have to work on though is my TE spot.

The Witten owner has the following:

QB: Cutler, Favre, Young
RB:Lynch, Jacobs, K.Smith, W.Parker
WR: Avery, S.Moss, R.Williams, L.Evans, M.Jenkins, Caldwell
TE: Witten, Heap

As well as picks 1.1, 1.6, 2.1 and 3.1

What do you guys think would be a fair starting offer?

As always thanks!

He is kind of stuck with only Heap left @ TE. I wish you were in one of my 10 player keeper leagues. I have V Davis Winslow and Dallas Clark! :D
His Wide Receivers are shocking!

I would give Z.Miller to him in a deal likely so he wouldn't be stuck with Heap.

Zach and the 1.5 would get it done. You have enough youth on your team to pull it off without setting your team back too...

That would be a good offer. Bowe might be another option as well although his value isn't very high right now. I would do that straight up myself.

I traded Reggie Bush straight up for Witten in a 12-team ppr league about mid-season last year (after my starter Cooley went down). I think Witten should and is valued as a top-5 TE. I personally have Witten rated as my #3 dynasty TE.

I would try Zack Miller and the 1.5 for Witten and the 2.1

I think adding the 2.1 would be a deal killer for me. The 2.1 is too valuable of a pick to trade. He'd be giving up a top 3-5 TE to get a good TE on a very bad team to only move up 7 spots in the draft?? Not happening. That 2.1 pick could be Bradford! Or Gresham, although might be a little early for him.

Miller and the 1.5 for Witten is a little more than I would give, so you might need a little more. A lower pick (3.1?)or a pick next year.

I offered Miller/1.5 FOR Witten....

He rejected and countered with this....

Zach Miller
1.5
Mike Wallace

FOR

2.1
Jason Witten

He said that this is something he would likely do but he would still need to think about it a bit...

Should I take it?

I'd probably pass as I like Wallace a great deal. I think your first offer was fair.

with the recent holmes suspension id hang onto what you have... if the raiders get someone relevant behind center you could have a top 5 TE anyways..
