Interesting trade offer received

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Interesting trade offer received

Postby KU Sucks » Mon Mar 29, 2010 1:09 pm

Very interesting trade offer received: I was offered 1.1, 1.8, & 3.9 for my 1.2, 1.9, & 2.2.

Now this is a tempting offer.............

What do you all think??????????????????

Thanks

Part of me wants to say, yes, do this deal, but when looking at the depth of the college draft and the players available, I think I'd rather keep your picks. That 2.2 is much more valuable than the 3.9 pick. I guess I look at it as being very happy with either Dez Bryant or CJ Spiller. The 1.8 to 1.9 pick to me is not as big a deal either as there will be a group of similar talent WR's available.

I would pass unless you are targeting either Bryant or Spiller and you feel the current 1.1 owner will take your guy.

the deal breaker for me is giving up the 2.2 for the 3.9. and i agree with moneyballer...the advantage of the 1.8 versus the 1.9 is very minimal. i think the other guy is hoping you'll jump at having the 1.1 and not analyze the rest. take the trade if you absolutely have to have the number one pick to get your guy but if it was me, i'd pass on it.

Actually I would be happy with the left overs of either Spiller/Bryant &/or Mathews if he goes to the Chargers or even the Texans. (would prefer the Chargers, but like that zone blocking for Mathews)

I think I am in agreement with you; there appears to be a dropoff after the middle of the 2nd round. 3 picks out of the 1st 14 picks isn't too bad this year.

What player would the guy offering the trade take at 1.1? Roster?

Yeah, I would pass. the difference between the 2.2 and 3.9 is huge.
I disagree with the assertion that the dropoff for players is around pick 14. I think there are at least 10 RB's that could be drafted. Add the WR's, QB and TE's, you have over 20 or so draftable players.

It is draft picks for draft picks; his 1.1, 1.8, & 3.9; mine would be 1.2, 1.9, & 2.2.

honestly you really need a WR bad... this would allow you to get dez... and have a shot at whoever falls out of dwyer, benn, or tate.... id rather have that then a 2.2 ...

you have these prospects..

dez
spiller
matthews
best
dwyer
tate
thomas
benn
gresham ...

if you stay at 1.9 and noone reaches for a QB, your best bet is the #1 TE.... id rather trade up..

I understand, but since he owns the 1.1 would he take Dez? If he would take a RB then why move? You get your choice between Dez, mathews, best, etc.

i have fitz, bowe, edwards, harvin and devin thomas in a league ... while having knowshon and mendy as running backs... so people would assume i would take spiller with the 1.1 ... but im taking dez.... dont assume people will draft for need, because if they draft for talent you're left crying.
