Week 16 - Actives / Inactives

Postby Steelersfan » Sun Dec 27, 2009 8:24 am

DeAngelo Williams (ankle, doubtful) will not play for the Panthers on Sunday in New York against the Giants.

With Williams making the trip with the team to the Meadowlands yesterday, there was a slim hope that he would play. Jonathan Stewart and Mike Goodson will carry the load for the Panthers against the Giants' 8th ranked run defense.

James Harrison (biceps) will play on Sunday against the Ravens.

Harrison was a big question mark for this week but it looks like he is going to give it a go. He took a helmet to his biceps in practice on Friday. Harrison hasn't had a sack since Week 11 but will try and get to Joe Flacco today.

Giants CB Corey Webster (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.

Upgrade Steve Smith a little bit, as Aaron Ross (hamstring) is also inactive. Rookie Kevin Dockery will start. The other Giants inactives are WR Ramses Barden, RB Danny Ware, OT Kareem McKenzie, OG Rich Seubert, WR Sinorice Moss and TE Scott Chandler.

Fred Taylor (ankle) will suit up for the Week 16 game against the Jaguars, Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times-Union reports.

Our View: Taylor hasn't played since Week 4, but he surely wanted to face his old team today. We don't expect him to have a big role. Laurence Maroney's value will sink a little bit, but he remains the best fantasy option in this backfield.

Justin Fargas (knee) is inactive for Week 16 at Cleveland.

Michael Bush is expected to start and see the bulk of the carries with Darren McFadden in a change of pace role. Bush will be a viable RB2 this week. Other Raiders inactives: QB J.P. Losman, QB Bruce Gradkowski, WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, OT Khalif Barnes, WR Javon Walker, TE Brandon Myers, and WR Nick Miller.

Hines Ward (hamstring) is active for the Week 16 matchup against the Ravens.

Our View: We're not certain that Ward is 100 percent, but he is a tough dude and was certain not to miss this must-win game against the rival Ravens.

Reggie Bush (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Bucs.

Bush insists that he's 100 percent after suffering a hamstring tweak last week. He'll play his normal role in the Saints' three-pronged backfield, but he's not a recommended fantasy option with just 8-12 touches expected.

Reports coming in that Steven Jackson is out.
Adam_Schefter: More evidence of a Cardinals rout: Rams deactivating RB Steven Jackson today.
Damn, i thought he'd play as usual and don't have much left on my bench to sub in for him.

On a team playing for nothing, I started SJax and had JStew on the bench.
