Doing a start up next year. We are doing devy and I'm new to devy. Do most leagues have limits on how many devy players you can have? Also is there typically a limit on what year players you can select during your devy draft? Any info anyone can pass on to help me get things up and running would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re: New devy league
I play in a Devy league that is a great set up. Email me if you want to discuss further. ffree3660@yahoo.com
I only play in 16x53 with 10+ taxi size leagues with full IDP. All are PPR and most value return yardage. So my opinions may be skewed To these deep roster leagues.

Re: New devy league
In both of my devy leagues (I commish one of them), there are no restrictions on devy roster size, but the only way to acquire devy players is to draft or trade for them. There is no free agency period for devys.Dkaz80 wrote:Doing a start up next year. We are doing devy and I'm new to devy. Do most leagues have limits on how many devy players you can have? We usually hold our devy drafts in mid-late summer, and all current collegiate players and incoming freshmen who have signed a National Letter of Intent are eligivle to be drafted.
I would suggest keeping a running Google Doc of all owned devy assets and always keep it current and available for the league to view. Google Docs are great for that. Anyone can view but only designated users (Commish) can edit it.
I would also suggest a downpayment for the following year if you allow trading of future rookie and devy picks. Some people, especially newcomers to devy format, don't understand the value of future picks and they can cripple their team with bad trades. Then they quit with no penalty, leaving you a turd to try and sell to another owner. With a future downpayment, you can at least let the new owner play at a discount.
I'd also suggest not flooding the market with huge annual devy drafts. It dilutes your future rookie drafts. 3-4 rds a year is usually plenty depending on league size.
