Bad trades and big mistakes thread

In 2017 I took over a team. First time in a dynasty league (12 team), although experienced in redraft leagues. It was a month before rookie/FA draft and I didn’t know what to expect. I had pick 1.6 and treated it like the NFL draft, and traded 1.6 for three 2nd round picks in (2017,2018,2019). I missed out on drafting either Cook or Kamara. It still haunts me!!!

Then in 2018, I apparently didn’t learn my lesson. I was offered Mahomes for 2.19 and 2.20 before the draft, but wasn’t sold on Mahomes. Now I’m living a nightmare!!!!!

It has gotten better though, my one redeeming trade prior to the 2019 draft was trading 1.2 and M.Ingram for M.Thomas.

At the tail end of the '16 rookie draft I made this trade, easily turned out to be the worst trade I have ever made and still haunts me every time I log into this league. All players were already drafted by the original team at the time of the trade.

Yikes. I can actually see the logic at the time. "Take the better talent and ignore the situation propping up the value of the other Michael Thomas."

Michael Thomas was my guy in that draft, but Laquon Treadwell fell to me at 1.06.... the value was too good to pass up, right? No way I could have passed on him, right?

Its 1999 and for whatever reason I thought Cecil Collins was the next coming of Jim brown or whatever (the hype on him getting drafted by jimmy Johnson after jimmy had Emmett in Dallas was crazy) I decided I had to do whatever I could do to be able to draft him. The guy at 1.02 bit so I traded him Marshall Faulk straight up for pick 1.02 to take Collins.
Not only was Collins a colossal bust but the guy I traded Faulk to not only had a stud for 10 years or so but he also rode Faulk to two super bowls over me cause Faulk went nuts in the weeks we played against each other in the Super Bowls in those respective seasons.
I’ve never forgotten that hurt of that horrible trade and losing two really close Super Bowls to the guy I traded him to. It still makes me want to throw up

I traded D. Adams and change for Hunt last offseason. Was told I stole Hunt (it was a Non-PPR league). Now Adams is a Round 1/2 startup guy

Funny you say that. When I read he was going vegan my immediate thought was, well his career is over lol.

My worst trade ever ... a few years ago traded away the 1.08 for Willie Snead (the year after he put up WR3 numbers and was supposedly going to be the clear #2) ... and with that pick the guy drafted Alvin Kamara.

Desperate for WR's a few years ago, I had just taken Fournette at 1.02 when I was on the clock at the 1.04. So, I traded the 1.04 + 1.09 for Brandin Cooks. Cooks is great, but my trade partner drafted Mixon + Kamara with those picks. Doh!

Or the time I traded a freshly-drafted Michael Thomas + Dez for A-Rob. Ouch.

During the season last year I traded away Aaron Jones and Marlon Mack for Kareem Hunt and a (projected early) 2020 first. 2 days later Hunt was suspended.....

Dropped kittle woods and a Jones. Traded a 18 mid first for Jared Goff. That pick becomes Nick Chubb. Can't forget passing on Gurley to draft D Freeman during our start up.
