Is he though? I’d have to go back and check, so I could be wrong, but Dell was putting up better numbers for a decent amount of weeks and CJ loves him
This looks like a 1a/1b situation to me, which can be an extremely successful recipe for all involved.
Agreed, CJ has shown he can support 2 WRs fine. Much to my surprise

This injury, really hurts his value. He's 25 next year. Hope he can come back, but Nico, man. He's a baller. I can't see how he's not extended, given his connection with Stroud, being on a cheap QB contract. Nico is going to get PAID. So he should, too.'

Dell, sadly, will play on a rookie deal, and regardless of how well he plays over the next 4 years, won't get a great 2nd contract, due to his age/size/injury concerns.
Collins looks good too, but we've already seen that both can coexist. It's not an either/or.
I guess you can call this co-existing. But my point is while Dell is a great WR, Collins is the alpha. My personal proof is to just look at what each WR did when the other was OUT. One put up good numbers, the other put up great numbers.

Dell | Collins (Targets - receptions - yards - TD's)
Week 1: 4-3-34-0 | 11-6-80-0
Week 2: 10-7-72-1 | 9-7-146-1

You're seriously making this conclusion based on a sample size of 1-2 per player?

FantasyFreak wrote: Sun Dec 03, 2023 5:35 pm I don't think it is. He won't get the same type of 2nd contract as a guy who's 24/25, when he's 28. That's pretty obvious. My point is, his 2nd contract is capped. It just is. He won't get 3-4 years guaranteed, at that point, it's a long shot at best.
Rather than wringing our hands over a theoretical contract that's still 3 years away, how about this:

Tank Dell is under contract for his entire athletic prime (ages 24-28) with a Top 8 QB in the NFL (Top 5???) - possibly one of the most accurate pure passers we've seen play the modern game.

Nobody holding Dell stock is giving 2 shizz about his 2nd contract at this point. Imagine him with a 2nd year Stroud... an offseason together... good gracious. If you play Dynasty in 3 year windows (a common strategy) then this guy is as hard of a 3 year lock as you could hope for.
I get that. I was just pointing out for the person, due to some factors, his 2nd deal won't likely be a top end one, which is unfortunate for him, the person that is Tank Dell. In Dynasty, his 2nd contract doesn't matter right now. No arguments about that.

Tank has a TD week 12, so you’d wanna update that. He had a streak of 4 straight games with at least 1 TD till he got injured last week.

Alphas don’t need the other WR to be OUT to ball out, so idk why that’d be the criteria. If Nico is an Alpha he should be doing his thing with Dell (or other great WRs) out there, that’s what an Alpha does imo.

I think what he is saying is that when the other is OUT, the D can put extra attention on the one guy, so it's harder to ball out. I could be wrong, but that's what I thought he was alluding to.

I can get that, and maybe we just have different ideas of what an Alpha is. To me an Alpha dominates regardless of what WR is next to him. If you need your fellow WR to be out, to dominate, you’re not an Alpha imo.

T Hill is an alpha. And for the record idk that either Nico or Dell are alphas. But I’d be happy to have either on my team.

I'm disappointed that I got zero shares of Dell, but I'm happy I bought a few shares of Nico early this season

Edit: Never mind. I just remembered that both deals cost me Jahmyr Gibbs, either directly or indirectly. So I rescind my excitement

i didn't wish him an injury, but it does take a little sting off trading him.

I also believe its 1a/1b

The debate around the impact of multiple solid WR's on the team is purely conjecture. Whether or not they add value to each other or limit each others value is purely speculation. Im not saying that either of these players adds to or limits the other. Im not saying only 1 can be productive....What I am saying is that I believe 2 nuanced things

1) Dell is not as dominate without Collins playing as he is with Collins playing
and 2) the vice versa is not true. Collins can be dominate regardless of whether or not Dell is playing.

To me that means Collins' ceiling is higher because his production is more insulated IMO.

The sample size for that analysis as someone else pointed out is small.

But I’ll simply add that Dell is also a rookie, and Nico is in year 3. Oddly similar age, but less nfl experience for Dell.

Hopefully I can get a couple more shares this off-season. Out of sight out of mind. Any chance that his value dips and is a buy or is he just too expensive and will stay there. But I’d he stays there I guess it’s not too expensive..: wut

KTC has Dell right now valued like a 2024 mid first (nonSF)

In my 16 team (also nonSF) league a trade just happened where he went for the 1.04 and 3.04 (16 team league) and supposedly the team offered the 1.04 and his '25 first for Dell before he got injured.

just wow
