OJ Howard 2.0. All the athleticism and hype and none of the production.
couldn't you say the same thing about njoku?
And Ebron, Seferian-Jenkins, and Pitts. :surprised:

IDK if anyone has mentioned but I like Hunter Henry for his price. Jonnu as well. I mean, they could both get 100 targets each. Who knows what's happening there? Hunter has not quite lived up to expectation but I still think he is talented and maybe BB turns it into production.

I think Dawson Knox will be this year's top 3rd year break out player. He not only has the athletic talent, he is one of the few TEs that can put up fantasy points due to his high powered offense he plays on.

I've been picking up Albert O everywhere at the end of drafts. Sure he has fant in front of him and he may not be 100% but the Broncos showed they will use him and he will sit on my bench and bide his time until it's his time.

After reading this thread, I've determined that every tight end not in the top 10 is worth owning.

just for the hell of it, let's add Tyler Kroft to the mix. Sounds like he might win the job over Herndon.

I am leaning the other direction, there are only 3-4 TE's I care about......

Worth owning? Sure.

Worth going out of your way to acquire? Let’s just say there’s a reason that so few TEs are difference makers and the ones that are typically were not the highly soughg after TEs in rookie drafts…

haha, you know it.

i think it shows that they're all equally worthless and everyone has their favourite sleeper te that may perform better than the price to get them. and most of them cost nothing.

This. Outside of the 3 elite options, it's pointless. Hell, the TE4 scored the equivalent of the WR40.

Is that the norm or do you expect that to still be the case again in 2021 ? Either way the positional advantage you can gain is huge @ the TE position.

Last year there was a dropoff in the 2nd tier as Ertz, Engram and and a cpl young guns in Fant & Hockenson had to deal with injury problems

Targeting risers can make a big difference. Rode Logan Thomas & Robert Tonyan to a cpl of titles. Who will it be this year ?

Yeah, TE is a s**tshow, only magnified in my SF startup where we start 2TE Super Premium (2 PPR, 8pt TDs).

And you can flex more in! Which, I don't think anyone can or would?

I went 2 QBs early so grabbing a high-end TE on top of that was just too much. So dart throws at TE it is!

Love the TE position, but like your 2nd or 3rd QBs in SFLEX, your 2nd TE starter (and maybe 1st!) is at high risk of being laughable.
35 Team Dyn PPR, 3 x Copy SF start 2TE Super Prem (TE 2 PPR, 8pt TD), 6 pt/non-TE TD, 1pt/20 yds pass (300 +3pt), 1pt/10 yds rush/rec (100 +3pt)

Start 12: 1QB 1SFLX 2RB 4WR 2TE 2FLX | 30 Active Roster, unlim Taxi, 3 IR/Out (+) | est. '21 | playoffs '21, '22

QB - J Allen, T Lawrence ...
RB - A Ekeler, S Barkley, J Cook, I Pacheco ...
WR - AJ Brown, C Ridley, G Pickens, C Sutton ...
TE - D Njoku, D Knox ...

It's been the norm. Having an elite TE is arguably the biggest positional advantage in fantasy.

Also true. The Waller owner in my one league is stacked. Every now and then his other players would put up duds or were missing for huge stretches of time and it felt like he was still making up all the points at TE

The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia said Bills TE Jacob Hollister could become the team's starter if Dawson Knox's struggles continue in 2021.

Buscaglia said Hollister's athleticism -- he had an 84th percentile burst score at the 2017 combine -- and his familiarity with Josh Allen -- who played with Hollister at Wyoming -- could position him to take over as Buffalo's primary pass catching tight end in 2021. Knox disappointed the Bills and fantasy managers in 2020, commanding a meager 9 percent target share in nine games he played. He ended up catching 24 of 47 targets in the Bills' wildly productive passing attack. Functioning as the Seahawks' starting tight end from Week 7-17 in 2019, Hollister scored the 12th most tight end fantasy points, averaging 5.9 targets per game. He'll be a popular late-round pick or waiver wire add if Knox falls out of favor this summer.
I thought about this last month & grabbed Hollister in round 30something of a best ball premium startup draft.
