Another vote for Steve Slaton here. Was my first ever season playing fantasy and I drafted him late and I remember thinking how easy this game was.

Nope. :-D

Brandon Lloyd was a league-winner that one year, and I feel always gets overlooked in these discussions. The best part is it was all junk time. I remember regularly looking, seeing just a couple PPR points in the fourth quarter and thinking "ughh, his luck finally wore off".... then being confused seeing he had twenty some points in the end.

Edit: Just looked, to make sure I wasn't making that up:

First half: Receptions: 29 Yards: 520 TDs: 4
2nd Half: Receptions: 48 Yards: 928 TDs: 7.. 6 of the 7 td's came in the 4th

Bad memories of that. The Volek/Bennett combo narrowly beat me in the playoffs. I was killing it with Trent Green/Tony Gonzalez that year til the 6th seed knocked me out.

My wife played fantasy football one year, and she had Sidney Rice completely blow up and carry her team--1300 yards and 8 TDs that year.

A favorite of mine was Laurent Robinson--11 TDs in the last 10 games of the year. He had that massive year in Dallas thanks to (another) Miles Austin injury, then went to Jacksonville in FA that offseason, only to play just one season for them (and only 7 games!) before being out of the NFL.

Gado and Slaton are mainstays in discussions like this, Bowe is a great one too (didn't realize so much of his value/production was jammed into one year), but Laurent Robinson is a Fantastic call-back.

If Ajayi has a poor year, I could see him earning a mention here.

Edit- holy hell, Devin f'n Aromashadu!!!

You beat me to the punch. He single handedly beat me in a week 17 Super Bowl in my long standing redraft back in like 2009.

Some recent guys for this
Terrelle Pryor, god I bought in hard on him
Jeremy Hill, so many redraft leagues ruined
As an IDP player, this man single handedly won so many people weeks if they had the balls to start him- Adrian Clayborn.... that man worked Dak over

I was going to throw out Muhsin Muhammad 2004. Didn't realize he had two very good years in 1999 and 2000, though, so I'm not sure he qualifies.

I've only been playing FF since 2011, but here are a few guys that stick out vividly in my mind:

2012: Steven Ridley

2014: CJ Anderson (from weeks 10-15 he had over 700 total yds and 9 TDs, and has never produced anywhere near that stretch since then until joining the Rams)

2015: Thomas Rawls (took me to the playoffs with his weeks 10-12 performances)

2015: Gary Barnidge (I actually started 2 TE this year with/ Barnkowski as my flex)

2016: Tyrell Williams (I know he's been a steady #2 for the Chargers, but he had 1000 yds and 7 TDs after Keenan went down, which helped lead me to a championship despite losing Keenan the first game that year)

He probably doesn't fully qualify, because he had one or two other decent years but man, 2004 Javon Walker went apesh!t.

89/1400/12

Won me my first ever championship.

In 2013, Zac Stacy and Nick Foles were the reason I won my league. Picked them both up as FAs that year and they went berserk.
