I’m a Niners fanatic. I’ve watched every snap of Jimmy’s in SF either live or on replay. He personally lost SF the Super Bowl with a stacked roster and staff. Do you know he they got to the Super Bowl? By hiding Jimmy. In the 2019 NFC Championship game the 49ers beat the Packers 37-20 while their QB Jimmy G had this line: 6/8, 77 yards, 0/0. He has hamstrung the team with a win now roster with his fragile body and fragile play on a bloated contract for several years now.

He was the reason Niners were losing to the Rams on Sunday, while Deebo almost single handedly pulled the offense along, and the defense absolutely bleep on Stafford et al. In the second half and OT of the game, that is nearly 3 quarters of game time, the defense held the Rams to 50 yards rushing, and Stafford to 5-16 passing for 103 yards, 1 TD, and 2INTs, and the Niners sacked him 4 times.

Even with that dominant defensive performance, it took OT to win(again with the defense sealing it) because of Jimmy’s first half JV level blunders.

:o :o :o :o

WOW.

That is one impressive list of the damned - and easily one of the craziest things I've read here today.

Jimmy might not have the upside to get you over the hump to win the big one... but I don't know what you've seen out of Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold, or Trubisky to warrant this sort of drive-by attempted murder. This is outright slander!
I'm 100% correct about this. Jimmy is bad. Even in historically good situations in NE and SF, his per game numbers are no better than any of these guys, and significantly worse than some. There really is no better QB situation to be in in the NFL than in SF under Shanahan. Shanahan made RGIII look like a god, made Matt Ryan into an MVP, has surrounded Jimmy with an elite OL, elite TE, elite rushing game, elite WRs. And yet, Jimmy plays like absolute dog bleep. He is very, very not good. Take it from a lifelong Niners fan and former season ticket holder when at Candlestick, Jimmy is a nice guy, he just sucks at football.

No need to even argue this anymore, if you don't already know this you either haven't paid attention, don't know the Niners, or don't know football. Not gonna engage with anyone in those categories on this subject.
This is quite an extreme take. Jimmy G is not the answer, but he is also not the problem. He is a bottom end QB1. I think Don's evaluation about the rest of the roster is where this misconnect for me is

Jimmy G's biggest claim to fame is he is better than Nick Mullins.

As a Giants fan, I remember thinking Eli stunk and then he won 2 Super Bowls.

He did stink for much of his career. He played well by his standards those two playoff runs, and he had elite defenses.
