2021 outlook for Trautman?
Started a thread in Player Debates to discuss this very issue. He's the only TE on the roster now, at least until free agency/draft. He's a guy I really liked last year headed into our rookie draft. I believe I ended up getting him off the wire after making a couple of trades. I think he's a great stash to see what happens in 2021.

The one caveat... I hope Drew Brees doesn't decide to give it one more run. I know he was injured last year and likely played through a lot of pain, but his arm doesn't look that great anymore. I didn't enjoy watching Rivers struggle in Indy last season, and I'd rather not see anything similar in N.O.

Let the youth movement begin!
the good thing is the massive salary cap issues they have. they will add someone at TE, but it will either be a rookie or some cheap veteran like walker, and both things will be great for trautman. (now watch them sing hunter henry...)

I really liked his profile coming out. He looks like a Zach Ertz type of prospect. Gonna be really sad if he doesn't fire. Saints traded the entire bottom half of their draft to get him. That said, the coach banging the table for him left to go to Det.

Because it creates $14M in cap space.

So? That's still not a lot and Dunlap wasn't worth his cap hit, especially in this reduced cap year.

Frees them up some wiggle room to give RW some help. Does it position them to sign Carson or are they still letting him walk?

Probably gone. If there's one thing Seattle can do, it's finding dirt cheap RBs

Yes, Carson is likely gone. They aren't going to pay him, and believe Penny can be a suitable replacement. Additionally on Dunlap, I believe the plan is to try and bring him back on a cheaper deal. It's not that they weren't happy with his play, just that they don't want to pay him $14 million in 2021.

An average team spends between 8-10 million to sign its rookies.

They were functionally broke for FA before this.

Besides Baltimore I am struggling to think of a "bad" WR destination

Maybe a buy window for guys like Golladay, ARob, Juju, Davis, etc in the midst of "uncertainty"

Perhaps I'm missing somewhere though

NE seems to be considered a bad landing spot, because of the QB uncertainty. Also have seen Detroit (QB, scheme, coaching staff questions) and Washington (QB questions and second fiddle to McLaurin) mentioned. Jacksonville (rookie QB, NFL untested HC), NYJ, NYG, Philly all possibilities as well, depending how much you weigh cap space.

And TB is "interested" in OBJ? Is Antonio coming back? Poor Tom isn't going to have anyone to throw to.
