As a Miami fan, I would hate to see the Dolphins spend anything to acquire Swift. If Detroit cuts him and we can get him without giving up any picks, SURE I'd be happy to have him in training camp to see what he can do.

I'm sure Swift is a great guy, but I've seen enough to think he's not a "football player." He has the talent to flash a cool looking play every now and then, but I don't think Swift is that guy who gets the job done over 4 quarters of NFL football, 17 weeks a season.

I'd love for Swift to be Miami's third string RB behind Wilson and Mostert, but I'd hate for Swift to be Miami's RB1.
I think the dynamic you could have on the field with swift, tyreek and waddle is worth a late pick to see how it goes.

But I am probably biased as a swift owner, I think the talent is for sure there, he can take over a game when given the opportunity. The problem is in why he doesn't get that in Detroit, whether it is his inability to remain healthy through a season/game (odd considering he could hang with Georgia without injury issues, but the NFL is a different beast) or if it is boneheaded personnel deployment by the Detroit decision makers.
It would be interesting to see if Swift's ability meshes with McDaniel's offensive scheme. I think there a chance it could, but McDaniel asks his RBs to take a lot of hits. I'm not sure Swift could remain healthy playing that offense. But if he did, I think he's be a lighter version of Mostert in that offense, with maybe enough extra speed to break a couple more plays.

So Lions went into the draft wanting to draft Bijan, but thought that at their original pick, 6 was too early for Bijan.

So they traded down to 12, figuring there is a good chance they get Bijan there and look like geniuses.
Then the Falcons draft Bijan at 8 and throw the Lions off guard.
With deer in headlight eyes, Lions panic and reach hard for Gibbs.
I think that it’s more likely that they really wanted Gibbs. The draft capital speaks to that…and it speaks to the opportunity he’s going to receive.

Don't know how you got that other than pure speculation. ATL was rumored to take Bijan pretty extensively. The war room when they drafted Gibbs surely doesn't indicate panic.
Lumps is correct, MacDaddy is writing fan-fiction.

Reportedly Lions were actually ready to take Gibbs at 6. Per Tom Pelissero:

They are cuckoo over him.

Not sure… late 2nd/early 3rd rookie pick seem like a decent swing?

Depends on how much he wants and how he performs I'd wager.

Sorry should have been more specific. Is he now going to be valued as a top 5 RB.

Bijan, hall, CMC, Gibbs, JT, walker.

I don't have all of those guys ahead but I'm sure plenty do.
