What did you pay? I tried shopping him last year. Couldn’t get much.
2021 first for Conner/Higbee/two late 2020 3rds
Oh wow. Is Conner a buy?
At that price it’s more of a steal imo

I'd definitely disagree with that. Conner carries some risk and likely has to stay healthy this year if he ever wants to be relevant in the long term. I could be left with nothing in 9 months and be out a first rounder.

Is this truth?
I suppose I could always fire up the Google but damn that’s an amazing accusation I’ve never heard of. So often I’m reminded just how naive I am to what’s really going on out there.

It’s been rumored by multiple people. SI published a story in 2010 outlining a working relationship between Kiper and agent Gary Wichard, suggesting that Kiper would rate Wichard’s clients higher. Kentwan Balmer, a bust that Kiper consistently mocked higher than everybody else, was a Wichard client. Lawrence Jackson stated that an agent told him that he could get him on top of Kiper’s big board.

This seems plausible to me.

Of course he carries risk. So does whoever you take with the first rounder.

Sold Connor for McLaurin and a first that ended up at 1.09 or 1.10. Initially the first looked to be in the mid-range, but he lucked into some wins. Still happy with the return. My particular team had better Rbs to start and for flex, and I just don't feel great about him long-term.

I wanted to believe that too, but got crappito'd on pretty thoroughly by OCR back on page 1... he makes good sense:
OhCruelestRanter wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:26 pm Pittsburgh doesn’t have a first or third round pick, has no cap space, doesn’t have a long term future at QB, and has bigger needs at more important positions like edge rusher (assuming Dupree leaves) and tight end. I guess they could take a RB in Round 2, but that seems monumentally dumb on their part.
I still believe they could add one of the myriad FA RB's that are out there this year, or they add a day 3 guy - or both. Can't imagine they're in the mix in the 2nd for an RB though given team needs, which probably rules out the guys we're currently excited for that would give Connor a good challenge. (Swift / Dobbins / Taylor / Akers / probably CEH)

I'll say that I don't think Connor is JAG but I don't think he's much better than Samuels/Snell. Doubt they draft anyone notable due to the above reasons, but Im not buying Connor

They also don’t have cap space, so I’m not sure who they could sign that would really be a threat to Conner.

Of course he carries risk. So does whoever you take with the first rounder.
X2. People so conveniently forget this

It’s true, but the pick doesn’t really become risky until he has to make it. Until then, it’s just currency.

zoster80 wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2020 8:30 am I did a search and couldn’t find a thread on Connor. What do we think about this Guy and his situation in Pitt?

Is he still in the driver seat to be the starter in Pitt?
Will Pitt offense as a whole bounce back?
Are they going to draft anyone 2020?
What is his value in terms of picks or future picks?

The biggest question is..... do we have faith that he will finally stay healthy the whole season?
I still think he is a very good RB in a great situation. I do believe he is in the driver seat, but he is on a short leash.

I do believe the Pitt offense bounce's back with Big Ben.

I don't believe they'll spend high draft capital on a RB, but they could take one in the 4th or 5th, and its a deep enough class.

In terms of picks, I think a mid 1st is going rate.

I do not have much faith in his health, as his play style is punishing. For that reason, I do believe he is a sell.
probably the wisest post in the thread his style will prevent him from ever staying healthy and pittsburgh will have a late 3rd comp pick but I doubt they take a back before the late rounds if at all . Oline depth is a must and likely TE and if any of the decent qbs are on the board at 48 I think that will be the pick.

I don't think anyone is paying a mid fist for Conner. I would definitely not say it's the "going rate".
