Yeah, the Texans paid a third rounder for Duke, but they also paid a Nuk for David.

I gave him away for $50 ($200 budget) FAAB in my 10 man home league. Cant get much cheaper than that, but I'd like to stash some extra FAAB for late in the season.

I think Duke is a decent hold or buy-low in PPR right now, especially with David Johnson's injuries from last season.

But otherwise, he doesn't have a lot of value. Pass catching backs tend to fizzle out quickly when game script isn't favoring them. Duke was a great sell high two years ago after catching 74 passes.

Duke Johnson had the 3rd most receptions on the Texans last season at 44. The Texans don't throw to RB's all that often because they have a mobile accurate QB that can get the ball to the second level. That said, Duke should get around 35 - 40 receptions this season.

As a Duke owner I'm honestly glad they traded for an injury prone washed up vet. Only a matter of time now.

His 62 targets, 44 receptions, 410 receiving yards, 71% catch percentage, and 6.6 yards per target were all career lows.

There are two scenarios that I see where he outperforms his current value. The first is:
1. The Texans don't draft anybody of consequence.
2. David Johnson either get hurts or proves that he's even more washed than we thought.
3. Carlos Hyde isn't available to be immediately re-signed and revert the offense to it's 2019 form.
4. Duke is then thrust into a bell cow role and doesn't get hurt.

The other scenario is where BOB trades him to Tampa, and in exchange gets a conditional 7th round pick and agrees to get framed for arson.

His dynasty value is equivalent to what HOU paid to get him.

Retired today. All time leading rusher at the University of Miami, and barely made a dent in the NFL.

I was pulling for him. Just never happened.

Hats off to the Duke! He was one of the most sought after backups for a stretch there was. Never materialized but it was a fun gamble.

NGL, I saw this post show up as having unread messages from today in my “Your Posts” tab and my initial thought was “why the F is this discussion being revived??” 😂

But I suppose, totally relevant since he just retired today.

He was electric at the U. Wish it would've translated more.
