It is a good thing that Carr uses that alleged athleticism to get some rushing yards - certainly more than Andy Dalton..Forza_Azzurri wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 3:36 pmOk I’ll bite:Phaded wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 3:07 pmOh boy, here we go.Forza_Azzurri wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 3:00 pm
Disagree ... Carr has a much better arm and is more athletic. My main concerns with him are 1) Gruden and 2) his confidence after being pummeled the last few years.
How so?
Carr: https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/derek-carr/
Dalton: https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/andy-dalton/
Carr is superior in speed & burst ... tied in agility. Carr has superior completion % in every area except Red Zone (which probably speak more to his receivers & judgement moreso than accuracy).
As for arm strength, I couldn’t find velocity data on Carr (not even sure that throw velocity is the best metric) but Dalton’s velocity is 59th percentile. Eye test suggests he has a stronger arm as well as qualitative stories such as this: https://raiderswire.usatoday.com/2016/1 ... nnnnnnnng/
Oh, wait. Derek Carr's highest rushing total in a year is 138; a mark Dalton has surpassed five times. Carr has never eclipsed 100 yards aside from that one year. Dalton only failed to hit 100 each of the last two years; when he literally hit 99.
Unless you are literally just going to go off playerprofiler; a completely subjective study which has no real football tape analysis involved.
I also have no idea what completion percentage has to do with athleticism.
