How is Watson not getting a warning for his 2 facemasks, tonight? That ejectionable stuff.

Are they? Or do they just have an elite schedule of bad offenses to play?

Titans and Panthers don't really inspire me to proclaim "eliteness" to that DST. Just my take.

They’ve been a great defense for years…they have pro bowl caliber players all over their defense, and Bryan Bresee is also really good. Their schedule is week, but it doesn’t get significantly harder so no reason to think it’s going to change soon.

“ The Saints have gone 10 consecutive games allowing fewer than 20 points, the longest streak in club history.”

I mean, they may not be top end like the Raiders D, but they are certainly very good. 8-)

So we've got a rather large sample size of Watson not being very good. That contract and all the picks they traded looks like a disaster right now. He didn't separate himself from Pickett tonight at all.

He just doesn't look like the same player. Until I see it again, I am not convinced. I think "elite" is gone. He's not a difference maker as a runner, he's inaccurate, and doesn't read the field all that well.

I've said this about Bryce Young, but he's played 2 games. Watson looks like a guy who has peaked.

Took a PIT DEF fumble recovery and TD, but I won 178.80 to 172.95. That was the only way I was going to do it. Damn, thank you PIT DEF. 22 points. WOW.

Pickens should have been targeted more tonight. Some clear audibles based on coverage Pickett missed. He's a play maker. 22 years old. Guy is a good football player. He's still got so much room to grow. I hope Pickett gets better. Imagine the Chiefs had just taken this guy, instead of Skyy Moore.

I get the narrative was that he was elite but the dude only threw for 30+ tds once in his entire career. Andy Dalton and Derek Carr both did that within their first 3 years in the nfl. Doesn’t make them an elite player. People just jumped the gun on Watson. And 2 years away will erode skill as well.

This was sad to read but true. I think this analysis was spot on. I just don't know how he diminished this much. He doesn't look comfortable or explosive when he runs. His accuracy was all over the place. I understand the concept of rust and learning a new offense and what not but I think Watson may be toast. I just cannot comprehend what I'm seeing. I know a lot of people were down on him this offseason but I figured he'd be 80% or more of the player he once was. He is playing with zero juice and looks like Trey Lance out there. Better paycheck though.

NFLN talking about JT to the Browns as an option. It would remind me waaaaaaay too much of Trent Richardson trade!

So we can agree, at this point, he's a middling QB and wasn't worth the draft capital, or the contract, AND those that "bought low", might not have "bought low"?

It's a shame, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. 8-)

I am going to be obvious, and full disclosure. I am not rooting for him. However, watching him play, as an objective person analyzing QB play, to the best of my ability, while it may be flawed, granted.....he just doesn't look like a good QB, especially considering the price.

Apart from the fact that the Colts asking price to this point has been "the sun, the moon, and the stars"...

And ALSO apart from the fact that the NFL Network is just throwing sh-- at the wall to kill the hours, and knows about as much (or less) than we do...

Just A FEW of the reasons that I was so vocal about getting Jerome Ford this offseason for all Chubb owners was because of CLE's situation...

In case you forgot, or needed a refresher:

- Gave up 2022, 2023, 2024 1st round picks AND their 2023 3rd
- Gave Deshaun Watson 230 million garunteed
- That contract has now kicked in
- They have been restructuring players like mad in an attempt to roll over cap space to 2024 where they are projected at 30mil over the cap

In summation:
Pick poor, Cap poor, leveraged to hell with Deshaun's contract.

It is likely that the team is the team, and that any RB signing will be a vet minimum, tops.

Notice: rather than keeping players they had to pay (D'ernest Johnson, Kareem Hunt) they instead kept the cheap rookie, and then traded a 7th for another cost-controlled rookie.

They are counting every cent.

There will be no Jonathan Taylor trade.
