The Fantasy Footballers wrote:From weeks 2 to 6, Sutton finished as a WR1 in three of five games. In that time span, he was the WR8 in target share at 28.1% and the WR4 in air yards share at 46.9%. All signs pointed to a very productive season, albeit without Jerry Jeudy in the lineup. However, from weeks 7 to 13 – which included the return of Jeudy – Sutton’s volume has taken a drastic decline. In the last seven games, Sutton has averaged a measly 3.8 targets per game for only a 13.1% target share, only ranking as the WR86 in PPR points per game since week 7.
Is Sutton's value driven solely by who Denver brings in to play QB next? If they bring a Bridgewater/Roethlisberger type, where would you value Sutton?

I feel Sutton could be a high end WR2 with a good QB in town. Not going to be easy unless DEN can orchestrate a trade. He should be valued as a mid-late 1st if they solve the QB problem. If Teddy comes back, Sutton is maybe a 2nd rounder at best.

The talent is obvious. The bad QB and playcalling situation is equally as obvious. Oh, and ditto everything I said for Jeudy too.

I feel like Sutton is close be being called injury prone. Do you all see that too or am I off?

Regardless, I won't be targeting or buying low on him unless Rodgers or Wilson end up in Denver, and at that point, his value will jump, so I won't be buying low.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

By all of your accounts he is a very good player, but the box scores outside of 3 games this season dont really reflect the enthusiasm people have for him as a player. Seems like there might be a decent buy low opportunity here since he hasnt really popped yet
If I controlled Miami, I'd pay him what Denver is paying, then cut Devante Parker and Fuller. It would be nice to see Sutton with Waddle and Gesicki. $15M/yr is a fair price for Sutton, especially when I consider that Parker is making $12M+, Fuller is making $10M+, and neither of them has helped Miami win a single game this season.

Sutton's major issue has always been his pedestrian separation ability. Better DB's shut him down. I always thought he was a very poor man's Mike Evans in that he could flash like Evans a few times per year but he simply can't maintain seasons Like Evans. Evans can still beat top DB's something Sutton simply can't with a somewhat limited route tree.

Injuries are a concern but I do agree he needs a great QB to drive up his value. Never owned him and while he is pretty good once in a while, his consistency is the major issue. He disappears often as evidence by 8 single digit games. His target numbers are horrid outside of 4 games.

I view him as a better NFL player than a fantasy player.

I remember when people were talking about Suttons route running improving to the point he would be better than Jeudy lol

Maybe, if they ever prioritize QB... Suttons value could tank harder if they don't. He's there 4 more years and will be 27 next year. He's not someone I want to invest in right now personally

He was fine in the first month/6 weeks. Bridgewater was actually throwing downfield, then the honeymoon phase ended and he turned back into a scared check down backup.

You don't even need to be all that accurate, just let Sutton get it. Lock is gone but at this point but he might even be a look although the TOs will kill them IRL.
