Can't give him away for anything at this point. Just have to hold and hope Chicago has decided to join the group of modern NFL offenses in a couple years.

Re: Justin Fields
Tua over Fields in dynasty- yes
GB and NE's WR corps are bad, but nowhere near as bad as Chicago's. Mooney is miscast as their lead WR, and Pringle/ESB are WR4s for an NFL team at best. GB/NE have at least TRIED in the draft/FA recently- Watson, Watkins, Cobb, Doubs, Toure, Cobb, tried to retain Adams, Agholor, Bourne, Henry, Jonnu, Parker. Maybe Velus Jones can level the scales by himself...
Are people already bailing on Alec Pierce?
Fields vs Pickett/Ridder/Mills- depending on roster and league, I could see going with Fields' superior ceiling or aim for the higher weekly floor of Mills. Ridder doesn't belong in the convo- he needs to get on the field and get through the growing pains Fields is now and avoid the team going QB next draft. Pickett is trickiest, but he needs to prove himself first. In 1 QB, I'm taking Fields' ceiling over all three.
Podcast mentioned Fields as a redraft buy low. vSF, @GB 1st two weeks. Texans, Giants, Vikings, Commanders next 4. Right now, looks like only 4 bad matches the rest of the year- @NE, @Dal, vGB, vBuf.

Re: Justin Fields
Mills won't be a starter for long unless he gets a lot better. He's been bad this year. Bottom 5 in on target rate, he's not getting it done. Texans will be drafting a QB next year unless he improves substantially, IMO.

And I'd still trade Fields to get Mills right now. At least I know Mills can play for my fantasy team if needed for this season. At this point, Fields looks incapable of putting positive points on the board.

Re: Justin Fields
He's not very good. With new coaches and new brass, I wonder if they turn the page this off season. I could see him getting traded for a later pick.

Re: Justin Fields
Ironically, Fields timeline is playing out pretty similarly to Mariota when he entered the league (head coach and front office change after 1 year, mediocre skill position talent around the QB, bad OCs, etc.)
Re: Justin Fields
I'll say it again, when you bring in a defensive minded coach who wants to protect his reputation you get just this most times.
Heavy run scripted offenses with boring vanilla schemes to mitigate turnovers putting his defense in poor position to have success. Dumb the game down & run clock to shrink the game down to as few plays as possible.
Now do that with inferior weapons and an inexperienced QB you get the Bears. Hard to say if Fields is truly this epically bad being put in predictive passing situations on the few times he does pass. Will hold out judgement until the Bears start throwing 30 times after they fall behind. Then see if he can get into a rhythm & produce at all

Re: Justin Fields
Fun fact of the day. Fields with 23 completions through the first 3 weeks of the season is the lowest number of completions through the first three weeks of a season since the 1978 KC Chiefs (QB duties shared by Mike Livingston and Tony Adams).

The NFL is kind of slow though, isn't it? It's OK though, I'm sure Bustin' Fields will find a way to say it was the fans fault, or something, for those throws.mild wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 2:53 pmThread here by Erik Lambert, a Bears insider/writer.
