UPDATE: Too much for Julio?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I countered with Evans + Charles + Knile Davis for Julio + Mason + 1.10 + 1.12.
He says he's not interested in Knile Davis. He offered to include 2.03 on his side.

Julio + Mason + 2.03

For my Evans + Charles

Accept, right?

I guess my value difference here is with Charles. I do have Evans in a tier below Julio, but Charles is way higher than Davis for me. Mason is closer and I'd consider that deal.

People here are on some good acid. The question is pretty well proposed, don't understand where some of these answers are coming from.

I would have taken the original trade. Him throwing in the 2.3 is gravy. It is going to be pretty funny for you when JC goes down next year and Davis becomes an RB1. Anyone who is acquiring JC should be looking to get Davis as well.

Offer is his Julio + Crowell/Mason (my choice) + 2.03

For my Evans + Charles.

That's the trade. Do I give up Charles and Evans for that return?

Main reason not to: I already have Dez/AJ/OBJ, and RB depth is huge.

Main reason to say yes: Julio (and Charles may fall off a cliff)

Agreed.

Davis is worth a mid to late first in a vacuum, IMO. And should be worth even more to JC owners.

Disagree, Davis was really bad last year. He might be a late 2nd to a Charles owner, but otherwise he's not worth it.

That's keep kind of my thinking as well, OtherNinja. Sure, Mason could be the Rams' starter for a year or two. But he's JAG. I think the Charles/Mason gap is far wide than the Julio/Evans gap.
By the time Mason isn't the starter, where do you think Charles will be? He's what 29? You're hoping Evans can be Julio, so take it.

This. As great as Charles is, you can only value him as a player that has 1-2 years left. He may end up like Gore and be an RB2 until he's 33-34 yo, but his trade value is going to dry up very quickly. It already has dropped since last year, and the 2015 season will be the last opportunity for someone to sell Charles for true RB1 value.

I'm taking Julio/Mason/2.03 here. I think you're probably taking a production hit for the 2015 season, but I think you're more than offsetting that with long term value. Plus I think you're getting a gift by being able to keep Knile. If you aren't a fan of Mason, I bet you can package Mason/Knile/2.03 and trade for a young RB that you actually want. That package should easily get you someone like Hill, and depending on the owner you might get close to McCoy/Lacy for that package. You don't always have to look at every trade as the endgame, you can always just take value gains and then trade for what you want later.

Accept Julio/Mason and the 2.03 before the other guys revokes it.

I almost can't belive the discussion here. Julio a WR3? Huh? He's in the top 5-7 Elite WRs. Evans may be great someday but he's far from that level today and if he does get there Julio should still be there right there with him. Meanwhile if Mason continues on his journey you'll have a solid RB there or as noted trade him back out with some other pieces for an upgrade at RB. How sweet does Julio and Hill look 2 years from now when Charles is retired and Evans is either in the same tier as Julio or still a couple tiers below with a struggling new QB. I like the odds on the Julio side much more.

It was meant to mean the #3 receiver over all.

e. But yes take the trade. Julio side all day, for all the reasons listed above.

The Twitterverse seems to prefer the Evans/Charles side.

I suppose the real question is whether I believe in Mason. I don't think I do.

Well if Twitter prefers Evans/Charles, then that should reinforce the idea of taking Julio/Mason. Lol
