They will realize that starting Derek Carr in the SF slot is way better than the likes of Tee Higgins. For folks who haven't played SF and aren't deep in to FF, this is hard to get your head around until you see the results.
Your overarching point is correct. With this specific league, I think it might take a bit longer, because most of these teams that loaded up on skill positions were still able to nab 2 starting QBs (at least, some of them still got 3). But what their QB room lacks is stability. The top team in the league has D.Jones/Stafford/Mac. The 2nd best team has Rodgers/Russ/Tannehill. There are a few other teams like that. I expect them to have a good first season, maybe even two. But they could enter QB purgatory quickly, which is the worst place to be in a dynasty superflex

Is this a 10 team league? If so, QB scarcity is less of a concern.

That's too funny. Counter with an equally terrible offer. Ask for their best QB for a 2nd (assuming they have a QB)

Haha I'm going to use it as an opportunity to educate. This guy's never played in a dynasty league so doesn't understand pick values outside of the little bit that I explained in the group chat

(Also it's my girlfriend's brother, so I'll be sure to give him a hard time)
