This makes no sense. It would be easy to just say BOB is incompetent but I wouldn’t have thought it possible for an NFL head coach to be that naive. What is going on that we don’t know about Nuk?

I am a big Hopkins fan but moved him recently in a league I took over. After much research he looks to have lost a slight step IMO. Still very good but think his receptions may drop this year to the 80 range as he is becoming more and more a possession type.

He is entering his 8th year so max trade value is really good right now.
What did you get in return for Hopkins? I have him and was curious.
It was actually a blockbuster deal on a team I just took over that was need of overall.

Sent Chubb and Hopkins for 1.1, 1.3, 2.1 and 2.11. I also received a compensatory pick of 1.14 for joining since the team had no picks.

Some thought it an overpay but the team wasn't going anywhere and I don't rate Chubb or Hopkins as high as many.

No regrets, I don't like Hopkins as much in AZ. Interesting I own Kirk in that. league.

DJ and a 2nd for Hopkins and a 4th
Maybe not if you plat in a cap league has to be figured into trades. We saw some weird salary dump trades in our cap leagues

I feel the same way. His ADOT and YPR were really low. The Texans clearly feel the same way.

Have to believe the Watson mega deal is looming large here. No way you can sign him at what he will command and throw huge money at Hopkins. Just wouldnt work out.

He went from 13.7 YPC to 11.2. That's a major drop and it showed on game days. He doesn't get the separation like he used and he isn't beating D's over the top.

The compensation is light but the idea is right.

Have to think they are freeing up some space for future contracts. Hopkins could have been cut with zero dead cap. DJ fits a need and can be cut without much loss (3m) after this year. You have to think they are planning to sign Watson and Tunsel, who they paid 2 firsts for.

As a Colts fan, I hope Bill O'Brien keeps the GM job in Houstion for as long as possible. Even if he was actively shopping Hopkins, he could have gotten much more. When I first heard they traded for Johnson I was curious what draft picks AZ was adding to make trading for DJ's contract smart. Not so much..............

Hopkins lost a step? Hes 28. His game has never really been about having a step anyway. Sad for Deshaun, excited to see what they'll draw up for him in Arizona

Not so sure but time will tell. They could sign a WR like Cooper or draft one with that 2nd. Hopkins while very good didn't really look like the Hopkins of old last year.

Not a fan of O'Brien personally but we need to see what they sign or draft. In fantasy we look at value quite a bit differently than the real NFL.

Hopkins is in line for a serious extension soon given his production history and is a getting a bit long in the tooth. The Texans look to be in a soft rebuild.

It doesn't really matter. He clearly did. His ADOT and YPR were way down, and he was not winning down the field. I personally understand the move by the Texans. They need to pay Watson a fortune, and they paid 2 firsts for Tunsel, so they really need to make him a priority. Hopkins was going to probably hold out to get a raise at some point, and they really don't have the money for that.

Hopkins should fit well at replacing Fitz in that dink and dunk offense in AZ. He was mostly used on short targets last year, which is what Arizona runs a lot.
