200$ for a 16 team league. If we want to
Let players walk that we still owe salary on you have to pay real cash to let that player go and it’s all of that players salary leftover. So say you have a player contract with 2 years remaining you would owe 355$ for your buy in since his contract goes up 5$ in his next years salary

I play in a couple $80 leagues, and a couple $50 leagues.

I used to play in a couple $350-$500 leagues, but I found the annoying flukey things that decide a game so often in fantasy to be downright infuriating and stressful when a couple Grand was the prize. I think I'm sticking to $100 and under for now.

$100 per player, $90 to run the site = total payout $910.
Payout:
$500 for winner
$200 for runner-up
$100 for each first round eliminated team
$10 to the team that has the first rostered player arrested!!

Same. Over the 20+ leagues I had a few years ago it added up but I am in 13 and dropping every year.

In all reality, yearly/dynasty fantasy leagues are one of the worst future bets you can do on sports. I mean that by the payout and odds, regardless of how good we all think we are. With that said, many of us consistently churn out profits year to year, myself included, but it is still a horrible bet on paper. That is why you gotta like/love the hobby, which the majority on this site do, or you would not be on this site.

Most of my buy-ins are $50-75 range and that works for me, because I’m in so many leagues, that it adds up quick, but I usually can make a little profit each season or at least break even, which is fine.

Can you show your work here?

The rake in many leagues is $0 which obviously you're never going to find in sports gambling. There is also a much more direct line to having a legit skill advantage over your competition since you're generally competing only with regular Joe's in most sub $2000 buy-in leagues.

I personally can't imagine paying over $100 for a fantasy league anymore. I just don't have the money or time to put into it at this point in my life, which I imagine is the case for a vast majority of fantasy owners.

All 6 of my pay leagues are now under $50. I've found that my most competitive league is actually just a $25 entry fee. I even have one very competitive free league.

I've found that building a stellar team in a $100+ entry league that gets repeatedly fluked out of the playoffs just isn't any fun because I put in the work, time, and money to be successful, but didn't ever see the results. As good as you may be, luck is still a huge part of fantasy football. At least if my team is really good and loses in a $25 league it doesn't hurt the wallet so much.

Its crazy to me to see people invest all this time for something that's free. It's hard to keep everyone interested in a money league all season, let alone a free one. I also have never played a free league so maybe it's different?
