You actually said a few slightly goofy things there. Abdullah had significant issues protecting the ball in college, his college tape has a lot more than just 'a little' wiggle (along with his burst, it's his best trait), and he often got caught from behind at the third level (i.e. long speed).

Bradshaw isn't a bad comparable, though. Bradshaw also had elite agility before all the injuries slowly took it away.

Wow, you weren't kidding. On that long run, he looked great until he got past the secondary, then it looked like they were reeling him in with a fishing line.

The second run for a first down was more impressive IMO.

So is anyone thinking about sliding him up past anyone if they drafted today?

I like Abdullah. I think he will continue to deliver. I know there is mention above about him getting reeled in by the DBs, but thing is he got past the DBs and made a 45 yd run. I think his vision and agility will allow him to break a number of these in his career. Sure, we may not see him break too many 90+yd runs given his top speed, but I will take a back that can find the holes, pass protect, and deliver on the field all day. My main concern with him is whether we see Bell or him getting the TDs once the season rolls into play.

Might be something of a trade-off, though, because I suspect that same motion/stance is part of what gives him such terrific agility, hip wiggle, ankle flexion, etc.
That's funny because I haven't watched much of him, from the replays I was like his legs look really weird (they looked bow-legged), i guess i wasn't just seeing things.

The one where he jukes the defender out of his shoes? I thought so too. The other runs looked great but I think a lot of rb's could have made those other runs. Not many could have done that juke though, maybe guys like Shady could etc..

You know who else ran like that? Barry Freakin' Sanders.

I suspect it's the massive thighs. Dude power cleaned "only around 310" as a Husker sophomore and was squatting 540 in high school.

Not saying Adbullah is the next Barry Sanders, but he's got a lot of the same traits: instant wiggle without any loss of speed, an unpredictable move set, and a phenomenal understanding of space, angles, and leverage.

Maybe Abdullah should learn how to do the extra little chug that Sanders did once he was in the open field. :P

Yup.
I will take the shifty guy that makes people miss for a few extra yards over the blazing speedster homerun threat...I am still more concerned about ball security with Abdullah than whether he can play.

I've gone on record as a big AA supporter, and these runs did make me smile. No, he won't break many for 90, but I'll take what he can give. There honestly aren't all that many backs that can break a 90 yard run. Forte is the perfect example of a back who gets caught from behind regularly, I don't mind that when he's already gotten 40 yards downfield.

I had Abdullah ranked 8th in my rankings, just behind Yeldon/Perriman but ahead of Agholor. I'll probably be taking him at the 7/8 spot in my upcoming rookie draft where I have both picks. Unless someone takes him top 6. Which would make me very happy :)

After last night's performance, what tier of RB would you place Abdullah?
