So I have a couple of teams that are projected to make the playoffs and a couple of dumpster fire teams I may be looking to sell players off of. So who are targets that contenders should be looking at and walking dead teams should be looking to sell off for good picks?
This of course can all be dependent on the league standings etc. etc. I know.
Buying:
Forte - Might be willing to give a late first and could be a difference maker this year. However risk in that he may be traded and future after this year completely unknown
(2QB) Cutler - Guy puts up solid stats and could be had fairly cheap in 2 QB leagues (maybe a borderline 1st/2nd?)
Rishard Matthews - Not studly, but could be a good bench/flex guy as a contingency plan for playoffs
Forsett - Would probably have to give a late 1st to get, but aging back and could hep playoff run
Larry Fitz - Having a resurgent year, could be the final piece for some teams
Chris Johnson - Can't believe I am even saying him, but no idea on value. Would anyone pay a late first for him?
selling:
Peyton - Don't own him anywhere, but he is on the block in half my leagues. Nobody buying though
Rashad Jennings - would take a 2nd for him, has value this year but looking shaky
ADP - If I had him, I would be trying to get a late 1st plus something to rebuild
Steve Smith JR - will retire after year, but has value for playoff run if you can get it
Just looking for brainstorming thoughts on who look at buying and make sure to sell. I understand each "market" will be different, but there are general thoughts that can be made on who are good short term buys and on who we should be looking to sell.

I agree with these. Maybe be leery of Gates, though. Some others to buy/sell:failblazer wrote:Frank Gore? Atonio Gates? Danny Woodhead (PPR)? Gary Barnidge?

Re: Final run targets (to get or to sell)
If I needed a running back for the stretch run, I'd be all over Gore. He'd be my number one target, as he's going to put up numbers, and it won't break the bank to acquire him.
Cobb would be much harder to get, but I'd take a shot, hoping the owner would listen due to the down year due to the injury. If he gets himself close to healthy, look out.
I'd be buying Smith Sr, too. If nothing else, he'd make the playoff push more fun.
Assuming Ryan Mathews injury isn't deemed to be serious, I'd be checking the price there as well.

Re: Final run targets (to get or to sell)
I just traded my Teddy Bridgewater for Carson Palmer+Justin Hardy. It's a 16 team superflex and I am competing and he is rebuilding. I may have lost a little value but Palmer is certainly an upgrade at my superflex spot.
Re: Final run targets (to get or to sell)
I recently traded Perriman and a mid 2nd for Forsett.

You're confident he is a WR1 the rest of the way???TheChicken wrote:I've finally accepted that James Jones isn't going away .... WR1 for a 2nd rounder.

Nope .... But I don't see much difference in him and Forsett last season.bcoogan23 wrote:You're confident he is a WR1 the rest of the way???TheChicken wrote:I've finally accepted that James Jones isn't going away .... WR1 for a 2nd rounder.

That's to much for me. I've been trying to acquire Forsett. Offering high 2nd, guy wants a my 1st. Just kills me to move a 1st for him. My stubbornness cost me a W last weekM-Dub wrote:I recently traded Perriman and a mid 2nd for Forsett.

It's a fine trade if he's win-now. Bridgewater is more high-floor than high-ceiling. Not crazy about Hardy, though.

Re: Final run targets (to get or to sell)
That price was probably on the high side, but already owning Buck Allen made it easier to just pull the trigger and commit to riding Forsett into the sunset. I was also really shallow at RB, with just Hyde and Murray as the only guys I had who even start for their respective teams. As long as I make the playoffs, I'll be content with that trade.Dingram wrote:That's to much for me. I've been trying to acquire Forsett. Offering high 2nd, guy wants a my 1st.
