Perriman for Mariota/K. Wright? (updated offer)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Perriman for Mariota/K. Wright? (updated offer)

Postby M-Dub » Tue Jun 16, 2015 9:52 am

Received an inquiry about Perriman from the owner of Tannehill and Cameron. I'm obviously in rebuild mode, but both of those guys would fill my two most pressing needs. He doesn't want to trade both for just Perriman, but I'm not really keen on including another rookie in the deal. What if I threw in Foles? Are there any other pieces I could add to the deal without getting fleeced? Even my 2016 2nd is looking to be a 2:01 or 2:02, considering how crappy my team is right now, so I'm hesitant to even include that. Thoughts?

Cameron keeps getting injured and Tannehill is replacable, not a FF stand out at all.

Keep Perriman and see what hes got. You need stars with your rebuild, not low end starters.

I would not move Perriman for that return.

I probably wouldn't do it either, but to answer your question Foles wouldn't change the deal at all. The only argument for the deal is that if you think Perriman has a high bust potential then you're locking in some startable talent in a conservative deal. Now that I say that, it might be counterproductive to your plan making your team better for 2015 and your picks worse.

One thing you need to monitor is your roster size. With 4 picks next year, you could have an impending roster crunch next offseason.

Now he's offering me Mariota and Kendall Wright for Perriman. That seems a little more appealing to me, but I'm still not sure if it's the best move to make. Are you guys buying the 93/1082/5 projection for Wright on MFL?

Regarding the roster size issue, I guess I look at that as a good problem to have, if I even have it. I don't expect all eight of my rookies to pan out this year, so I'll have to separate the wheat from the chaff before next year's draft. If enough of them do pan out enough to warrant holding onto, I figured I'd try to consolidate those picks to move up higher or get a young stud.

Very very much worse offer.

And stay very very far away from MFL projections. Like they'll give you some kind of STD if you look at them for more than a few minutes. The only good thing I can say about them is that maybe my opponents look at them.

A respectable site's 2015 projection for Wright is the PPR #39 WR at 69/787/6.

Haha. I was wondering what that persistent itch was all about.

The MFL projections do seem awfully optimistic. I'm really curious where they come from. Has anyone ever bothered to add up all the receiving projections for a given receiving corps and see how they match up with that team's QB's projection?

Everything about Perriman screams Kelvin Benjamin to me from last year. Even though people have their reservations about KB still, he has seen a big bump in value. I see a good chance of the same thing happening for Perriman....
