Trade up for Gurley?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade up for Gurley?

Postby bcoakley02 » Tue Jun 02, 2015 6:57 pm

Hello, need some help on a potential trade. I currently have the 1.3 and the 1.12 in an upcoming rookie-only draft for a 16-team dynasty league. I don't have a 2nd or 3rd rounder due to prior trades. The team picking first overall has offered me the 1.1 for both my 1st rounders. I do severely need RB help, and this would guarantee me Gurley. But my roster has other holes too:

QB: Rivers - Fitzpatrick - Pryor
RB: Murray - T-Rich - S. Taylor - DeAngelo Williams - Knile Davis
WR: LaFell - Jordan Mathews - Michael Floyd - Nicks - Mike Williams
TE: D Allen - Cook - Kendricks - Cumberland
K: Succop - Bailey

Wondering if people think I should make the deal, or if I'd be better off staying at 1.3, grabbing Cooper (presuming Gurley and Gordon go 1 and 2 overall) and then adding someone like Yeldon, Perriman, Funchess, or Winston (whoever is available) at the 1.12 spot.

thoughts?
QB: Luck (IND) - Manning (DEN)
RB: Gore (SF) - Foster (HOU) - Bell (PITT) - Miller (MIA)
WR: AJG (CIN) - Megatron (DET) - Maclin (KC) - Fitzgerald (ARI) - Stills (MIA) - Nicks (TEN)
TE: Bennett (CHI) - Ertz (PHI) - Pettigrew (DET)
K: Prater (DEN) - Tucker (BAL)
DL: Marks (JAC) - Poe (KC) - Casey (TEN)
LB: Foster (CHI) - Greenway (MIN) - Levy (DET)- Davis (CAR) - Mathis (IND) - Miller (DEN) - Young (PITT)
DB: Munnerlyn (MIN) - Harper (CAR)
ST: KC - ATL

Take Cooper, I would rather solidify my WRs before dealing with the RB situation. Grab a couple WRs or coop and Yeldon. Also, if a player like Bridgewater or Carr are available/on the block, go after them, you need help at QB. Look to trade Deangelo to the Bell owner or Trich to the L. Murray owner for ammo

I think you have too many needs to make the trade. I didnt see how many teams are in this league but if it is a twelve team league, it needs alot of work. Take BPA at both spots. I might even consider moving down from either spot if the value is right to get a few picks. I would also be shopping Murray for prospects/picks. If its a 16 teamee it is not as bad but still needs work.

Just my $0.02.

Because 1.03 is a very good pick, I would stay put because Gurley isn't the one piece that makes you a strong contender. I wonder if the 1.01 owner doesn't want to take Gurley so he is trying to move down. I'd snag whichever one of Gurley/Gordon/Cooper is there at 1.03 and build from there. I doubt Yeldon makes it to 1.12 but you will still have some good options at that pick.

I would get what you can from the Le'Veon owner by pushing DeAngelo and then I'd also look to the Charles owner to see what you could get for Knile. Heck, you could always move 1.03 for Charles too and try to contend this season, though your WRs are mediocre.... but then again nobody is stacked in a 16-team league.

I was wondering the same thing. I'd prefer both picks, but wouldn't have a problem making the trade if you're that excited about Gurley.

Keep your picks. You don't have the roster to justify this move. Why would Gordon go 2? Personally, I feel Cooper is the best player in this draft, if you get him at 1.03, you are laughing. I would spend the 1.01 on him.

I agree with all of the above, although Gurley will be an absolute stud IMO. You currently have other needs. Cooper will be an instant starter, and by far the safest pick in the draft if you can get your hands on him at 1.03. This draft holds a lot of strong RBs you can get at 1.12 if you want to go that route, I would take best available there WR or RB.
