Martz says TE Olsen will need to block first
Olsen
New Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz said that Greg Olsen's first responsibility will be blocking.
"To just skip by [blocking] and say, 'He's a terrific receiver,' well...you might as well just put another wide receiver in there," Martz said. This highlights Martz's attitude toward tight ends. No matter how good a receiver Olsen is, Martz sees him as primarily a blocker. No Martz TE has ever caught more than 38 passes and Olsen's outlook has taken a gigantic hit heading into 2010. And now so do the Bears. Martz usually finds a way to get his QBs killed...and to think, Chicago could have gotten J.T. O'Sullivan for much, much cheaper.hot nikkels wrote:And now so does Olsen.KU Sucks wrote:Martz sucks!

I've said it before. He's gonna want cutler to throw the 16 yard dig routes that made the greatest show on turf. The line as is right now can't pass pro that long. Cutler is going to get killed.Misfit74 wrote:And now so do the Bears. Martz usually finds a way to get his QBs killed...and to think, Chicago could have gotten J.T. I don't know how forte is going to be affected with martz as the OC. Some posters love the idea based on what faulk was able to do, but IMO Forte is no where as good as faulk was.
If the bears want to turn into a passing offense they should consider changing from their sloppy grass to a faster artificial surface.
Vernon Davis would have something to say about how Martz used him...and if your not sure...look at his numbers.
