Murray/Johnson for Yeldon

Postby ThirdWW » Mon May 18, 2015 7:00 am

Was considering offering Latavious Murray and Charles Johnson for TJ Yeldon. Is that enough to get it done? Would adding Jarvis Landry be too much?

I think it's about right. If that gets rejected, maybe do Landry instead of Johnson, but I wouldn't add him to those two.

I look at that as a slight overpay for Yeldon. I would see if you could get a 2016 3rd in return, also. Perhaps, I am higher on Charles Johnson and/or Murray than Yeldon, but I would view that trade as a win for the side giving up Yeldon.

Murray and Johnson have done nothing but flash for a couple of halves. Yeldon has big time upside, it's probably not quite enough but it's close. Including Landry would be way too much.

you can argue Murray and Johnson both have big time upside also. both have flashed for infinitely many more halves than Yeldon who hasn't played a down in the league. I personally see this as a bit of a rookie fever move and I think Yeldon will be able to be had for cheaper closer to the season. I just don't see the Jags as having upgraded their o-line enough to all of a sudden make Yeldon any better of an option to Murray. At least to me, not worth throwing in Charles Johnson on top.

Everyone has their own opinion, though. I respect yours and I see your argument of Murray/Johnson being potentially more likely to bust than Yeldon, but Yeldon can just as easily struggle.

Raiders tried to get D Murray and they've avoided handing the reigns over to Murray for some time now. Jags are ready to let Yeldon roll. Now, that doesnt mean take the opportunity over the talent, but it cant be ignored.

For me this is more of trying to find a RB1 fever than rookie fever. Desperate need of an RB for my team.

Yeldon has more upside. Living in MN seeing Johnson play he is a good wr3 but Patterson looks like he finally knows how to play football and will take his spot midway i think. I see a lot of L. Bell in Yeldon and love him in the Jags system.
