This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

crowell/west

Postby vixen » Thu Mar 19, 2015 2:45 pm

a team inquired what i would ask for crowell/west

he has 1.6, 1.11

thought of asking for 1.6........not sure if this is fair value
or maybe 1.11 and trent richardson....not sure if this is enough

what is your thought. or should i hold onto them. i am sure between the two, i have a starter...but would like another pick in the top 6 (i have 1.5)
not sure he would give up 1.6 though

I would personally want more than the 1.6 myself. I think that Crowell is worth a mid to late 1st himself and West is at a 2nd round value. To give up both of them I would need a little more value than just the chance that you replace the starter at 1.6. If your really intent on making the deal id wait until after the nfl draft to see how things shake out. Both are really young and have a chance to make a 2nd year jump.

thanks for your help

i didn't want to sell too low. 1.6 and trent?

we only have to start one rb. i would probably draft a wr with that pick.

ugh, they are a headache, but i do know i have a starter between them.

1.6 is the lowest i would think of trading them away for. The situation is going to have to sort itself out but there will be a victor eventually (I think Crowell) and he'll be a possible RB1. Plus you would already have a solid handcuff. You would have to really love whatever player you're getting at 1.6 to do that deal.

Of course there is always the possibility that they'll be stuck in a timeshare together for the next 2 years also so i suppose there is some risk, but drafting a rookie comes with some risk as well.

this is what i worry about, i tend to agree that one will emerge. you are correct that picks come with risk as well

i could throw out a 1.6 and 1.11 for the two, but i doubt that he will give that up for them.

I'm on a different page. I'd ask for 1.06/Trent but I'm willing to take 1.11/Trent and maybe a late pick. I don't think these guys will be highly valuable this season so I'd be cashing in if anyone came knocking. That offense is going to be brutal plus the backfield is going to be a timeshare. I know they had a little hype last year but I'm selling the minute I can get into the first round.

If you can get the 1.06, I'd take it. The Browns are a dumpster fire and there will be great backs available at 1.06 (assuming Gordon, Gurley, White, Cooper, Parker go 1-5).

If one of them steps up and wins the job I think they can be pretty valuable. They have a good offensive line and offensively as a whole I don't think they can be worse than they were last year.

If you are going to use the pick you would get for a WR why not try to get a 2nd yr WR instead of a rookie pick at draft time? I moved Crowell/West/3.11 for J Matthews, might help to explore this route.

If someone wanted to give me the 1.06 for Crowell/West, I'd snap accept and let them deal with that backfield.

1.6 is much better than 1.11 and T-Rich.

I would rather have 1.6 than 1.6 and Trent. You're gonna fill that spot better off waivers. Trent is actually terrible, and now he got yet another shot from a terrible team to match..

Thinking of offering West to the Crowell owner. Is asking for a 2016 first too much or maybe a second instead?
