He put up 3285 yards rushing, 615 receiving and 44 total TD's in 30 games. Considering most are saying he was banged up all the time, that's pretty freaking fantastic to me.

I think the concerns about Gurley are legitimate, but I'm going to reserve judgement for the time being. As others have said, trust the process. By that I mean trust what the professional scouts decide and go from there. Do they make mistakes? Of course they do, but they have a much better feel on the situation than we do. If Gurley comes off the board as one of the top 2 rbs, then I think we can all rest a little easier about him going forward.

We discussed this in another thread, but for me I think it bares repeating. When in doubt, go with the WR. I'm not going to go over all my reasons again, but if I'm OTC at the top of the rookie draft and I'm not totally sold on Gurley or Gordon; I'll take the best WR available and be happy about it.

Gurley Red Flag

Postby Matticus » Fri Feb 20, 2015 10:12 am

He refused to let doctors look at his surgically repaired knee today. Never heard of this before and I'm sure alarms are going off for many teams. How is this nugget impact his draft status for you?

For what its worth, I read that the doctors had aggravated a few injuries earlier in the week, so this could be a reason for not letting them look at it.

What on earth are they doing that is aggravating injuries? That sounds like negligence..

I heard the same thing. If my knee was tore up and those rumors were flying around I wouldn't let them touch my knee either.

@BryanBroaddus "Being told about Gurley. It is common not to pull or twist on a knee that was repaired 3 months ago. Teams understand this and are okay."

Rutgers TE Tyler Kroft "had his ankle injured" by doctors during Combine medical examinations, according to draft insider Tony Pauline.

This is why Gurley wisely declined....

Personally, I think anyone who drafts in front of me should consider Gurley's refusal as a significant red flag.

QB: Newton, Foles, Carr
RB: Hill, TRich, Taliaferro, A Williams, D Williams
WR: AJ, Gordon, Benjamin, M Bryant, Jennings, C Hogan, Austin, Dobson, Janis, D Carter, C Washington
TE: Graham

Team #2: 12-team, (1 QB 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex, K, DEF), PPR (0.5/1/1), 25-player roster

Why? It's normal to avoid it.
