"ESPN - NCAAF: Georgia RB Todd Gurley has torn ACL in left knee, source told the Macon Georgia Telegraph"

This feels eerily like Marcus Lattimore.

It's just SAD to see a kid's career take a huge hit before he ever gets paid.

This is more like Frank Gore.

Easy there, pump the brakes. The list of top RBs who came back from a torn ACL and were just fine is pretty lengthy. Hell, McGahee had an injury every bit as gruesome as Lattimore's and he went on to have a pretty damned fine career.

Make no mistake, I think Gurley will be fine and I think he'll have a fine career. But I can't imagine he wanted to spend his first NFL season on IR.

Any chance Gurley spends his senior season at Georgia, and enters the 2016 draft healthy so that he can work out for teams rather than his draft stock slide?

I think he'll have to talk with friends, family, and teams before he decides. There are pros and cons to both sides of the coin.

I'm sure there's some chance but most likely he leaves and gets NFL level rahab.

I bet he goes to a good team now. He will fall and a team loaded will take him.

Why would he? Teams know what Gurley can do. He's a bonafide stud. ACL injuries are usually an 8-10 month timeline. So with surgery in November, Gurley would be ready for action by September at the latest.

Still consider him the 1.01

but Cooper, Funchess, Parker, Gordon are on his heels.

Gurley has superb production combined with insane athleticism.
12 teams - PPR
1QB, 2-4RB, 3-5WR, 1-3TE

QB-Ryan, Tua, Fitz, Winston
RB-Zeke, Gurley, Conner, Henry, McKinnon, Drake
WR-Adams, Cooper, Woods, Parker, Pittman, M.Jones, DJax, MVS, Fitz, Foster
TE-Cook, Alie-Cox, Fells, Doyle, Okwuegbunam
Draft Picks: 2021 1,2,3,4,4

League Champion: 2017, 2018, 2019

I've been saying for a while that Gordon vs. Gurley depends on where they land. (I maintain that RB production has more to do with situation than WR).

What's interesting is that this could mean Gurley lands in a better position, as an above post says.

I think this makes Gordon the 1.01 for me though. Sure Gurley could return to form, but you never know with these things.

10 years ago, I would have said he might have in hopes of landing a huge rookie deal, but there's not as much incentive to do this anymore. He's not going to get a huge rookie deal, so he's going to have to prove himself at the NFL level and then get paid. I would think he'll jump into the NFL

^^^Exactly this. I think it is extremely unlikely Gurley would stay in college and risk another injury while STILL not getting paid. The drop in his draft value should not be dramatic and the difference between a mid 1st round contract and a late 1st contract(or even early 2nd) is not enough to risk injury again while playing in college earning nothing.
