Where do you guys rank him in the list of tight ends?

I think he is top 8 and this season is moving into the top 5.

Age an upside is the things keep him out of the top 5 for me. He's about as consistent as they come though. Olsen has been my favorite value play at TE for 3 years now.

He is a 29yr old TE in his prime right now. 2-3 more elite years? What's he worth right now? In picks or players?

in all likelyhood, he's worth more to your team than anyone will give you for him. he continually out produces the guys who owners are willing to give a 1st for, yet most wouldnt even think of giving a 1st for him. i think a 2nd is reasonable, but as someone who doesnt like to roster a bunch of prospect te's in hopes of finding the next elite guy....i would just as soon keep my steady olsen vs a 2nd rd pick. if you do decide to move him, a 2nd would be fair i think, but i would be pushing for an early 2nd. im guessing the buyer would be looking to give a late 2nd or 3rd though. i will also note, that i dont personally trade a 1st for any te's. graham, gronk, jt, cost much more...and the others arent close to worth it imo. some dynasty owners will pay for the position, some wont...it really just comes down to who your dealing with.

He use to be so inconsistent a few years ago, so that still lingers if you were to trade him, if you ask me. And now that he's almost 30, there's another reason few people will get excited by him.

He's become this steady, kind of boring contributor for your team, and like the guy above said, that's basically where he probably fits best.

2 weeks ago I traded a 2015 3rd and 2016 2nd for Olsen. My league is .5 PPR for TE, .25 PPR for WR so TEs have a bit more PPR juice. During negotiations, the previous owner and I both valued him at a late first/early 2nd price. However, I didn't have a 1st rounder to give. I was somewhat leery about possibly buying him high, but Olsen has just continued to put in consistent +10 point efforts week in and week out this year.

Olsen is producing like a elite TE this year, would need a first rounder just for me to think about moving him.

He went for Michael Crabtree in my league a week or so ago (some negligible picks were also involved). I thought it was a fair deal considering Crabtree's inconsistency and underwhelming performance so far this year.

Other posters are probably right though: you won't get for him what you'd expect for a top-3 player at his position. You can try selling him as "the third highest scoring TE this year" or whatever, but most owners will see him as a career back-end TE1 whose week to week scoring can be all over the map.

I'd suggest his value is a 2nd. If it was a 14 or 16 team league maybe a bit more.

Personally, I would look to buy him cheap if I didn't own a Julius/Gronk/Graham. Olsen is a consistent top 5 or 6 TE. I could see another 3 years from him.

Fair enough. Thanks for the input. I'm a Julius Thomas owner so I never start him. I don't think it's worth trading him for a 2nd. I rather just keep the depth of JT gets hurt. I'm 6-1 this year so I have a chance.

Olsen is easily worth a 1st IMO. Dude is producing strong numbers every week. His consistency is proven this year I believe. If I'm a contending team getting weak or inconsistent production at TE, I'd gladly send a mid to late 1st for Olsen and make a run.

He's worth a 1st to a top contender lacking any sort of decent TE1. He's not worth a 1st otherwise, in my mind.

You know he's only had a grand total of *two* 100+ yard receiving days in his entire career? The second ever was yesterday. The other one was in 2012, for 113 yards.

He's consistent, and he appears to be having his career outlier year right now. But he isn't a true stud. He isn't going to blow the lid off of your weekly statline. Additionally, he's 29, and most TEs fall off a cliff at 30-32. Look at Jason Witten this year. Look at Dallas Clark a few years ago. You buy Olsen for a 1st now, you're buying purely a short-term stop-gap solution, albeit a solid one. That, to me, normally isn't worth a 1st.

I've been given some laughable offers for him, really late 2nds basically. I would need a 1st to even consider it, but I'm a contender. If I was out of I would move him for a first pretty easily.

I traded Ahmad Bradshaw for him a few weeks ago. Don't like Bradshaw long term and Olsen filled a huge hole on my team.
