Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
Expected there to five hype threads on him by now. He played 52 of 60 snaps (Robinson played 0) and caught 5 for 56 and a TD. He got two red zone targets too. I'm not saying he's magically going to be the next Jordan Cameron but certainly he looks at least a little promising. Thoughts? Anyone scooping him up?

Eli Manning has always boosted TEs a bit. If you want the next Kevin Boss, you've found him.

Re: Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
I'm trying to get him in all of my leagues. Eli had to dump it to Donnell often, and I think he'll continue to do just that. Could be a really sneaky play.

I think he could be a D Walker type of player....doesn't have top 10 upside but will be solid 12 -16

I think this is about right, but who the hell wants the next Kevin Boss, I sure know I don't. I don't think there is anything to see here.ericanadian wrote:Eli Manning has always boosted TEs a bit. If you want the next Kevin Boss, you've found him.

I'd guess consistent mid to high end TE2 production.

Re: Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
If you're hurting at TE, then I don't see anything wrong with taking a chance on him. If you expect some kind of breakout then no, I wouldn't bother.

Re: Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
Had him rostered in a deep TE premium league knowing Eli's history of making nobody TE's fantasy viable.
Traded he and Josey today for two 3rds, a 4th, and Da'Rick Rogers.

Re: Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
Donnell will be a solid play this year IMO, but he lacks any real dynasty value. If you're competing this year, he's nice depth to have. Being able to plug in a double digit scoring TE in PPR leagues when you need it can definitely help. I think he'll continue to get a solid flow of targets. I could see a TE12-15 finish for him this year.

Re: Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
I liked our trade and I think it made sense. I basically paid to buy Scary Larry as a one year rental. As you said Eli makes no talent hack TEs a low end TE1. Although for a guy who doesnt have good workout numbers, I thought he looked surprisingly athletic.ConnSKINS26 wrote:Had him rostered in a deep TE premium league knowing Eli's history of making nobody TE's fantasy viable.

With Jordan Reed out I'm left with rostering Niles Paul or Donnell. Any idea on which it should be?

Re: Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
I grabbed him in a few leagues.
I like him as a TE2 for Bye weeks and such.

Re: Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
The Giants had him lined up on the outside in the red zone more than once. One of his touchdowns was a play specifically for him lined up against a cornerback on the outside. The Giants must have a lot of faith in him. Eli looks awful and I wouldn't be surprised if Donnell becomes Eli's go to safety throw.
Re: Larry Donnell - Anything to see here?
Arizona sucks at covering tight ends... hope he has a good week and if you can flip him for a second, I'd do it in a heartbeat (Barring the circumstance where you're an otherwise contender with a black hole at TE)

Sadly that is my circumstance.Fezzik wrote:Arizona sucks at covering tight ends... hope he has a good week and if you can flip him for a second, I'd do it in a heartbeat (Barring the circumstance where you're an otherwise contender with a black hole at TE)
