Per @RavensInsider, Anquan Boldin has been traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a sixth-round pick.
That'll be a bit of an awkward welcoming party....

WOW, nice answer to the 9ers to the Hawks move. That improves Kaep and that offense.

Wow, lotta action today. Great move by both teams honestly, this is why cutting Eric Winston was stupid. At least get something for a player your going to cut that other teams need.

I liked Jenkins as a sleeper this year...now not sure. Good move for 49ers. Almost as hard to defend as Seahawks. Those battles should be VERY fun to watch.

Nice possession receiver. He can still move the chains. Still like the Harvin move better but you can't argue with this one. Should give Crabtree the room he needs to ascend to Top 5. :salute:

Great pickup for the Niners. I can't say this is quite the same boost that Harvin provides to the Hawks/Wilson, but this certainly helps give Kaep a sure-handed veteran. Sure he may be a two-year rental, but it's an upgrade.

Boldin's pretty average at this point in his career, but they need a veteran presence to compliment Crabtree with AJ Jenkins nowhere to be found and Manningham injured. Solid value move for the 9ers, although I don't think he gets more than 800 yds next year.

In terms of fantasy, does this move substantially alter expectations for Kaep in terms of where he is drafted or his value in trade do y'all think?

Do they really need much more from him? Crabtree is the WR1 in SF. I agree that expectations should be largely tempered. However, Boldin has been known to surprise...Does anyone believe he still has a 1,000 yard season left in him with a dynamic QB like Kaep?

This will definitely be used by Kaep movers as a selling point. I would expect a slight increase in asking price.

agreed. some people, not ones on this chain, are acting like this is a negative sing for jenkins. they need jenkins as much as ever to turn into the complete offense they are trying to be. IF he can turn into a field stretcher, with a solid chainmover in boldin, a good te/wr combo in davis/crabtree, a solid and versatile run game, a cannon armed dual threat qb, and a brilliant coaching staff, how would you even stop this team. oh yea, their line isnt half bad either.

so whens the first sea/ SF game?

Considering how many draft picks the Niners have, it wouldn't surprise me if they draft another WR in the first few rounds. A field-stretcher of sorts.

Have to say I don't see a fit. Crabtree is the slowish, chain mover. I don't see him and Boldin as very good completements for each other. Jenkins probably is a good target.

While I wouldn't say Crabtree is a 9-route specialist, he isn't really just a slow, possession chain mover. He doesn't time well or have elite top-end speed, but the guy is ultra quick and certainly fast enough to be a big-play threat.

I'd imagine this signing effects Davis' production more than Crabtree's.
