Kendall Wright dropping in rookie drafts.

Postby grimace » Sun May 06, 2012 1:44 pm

So a bunch of my rookie drafts Kendall Wright been dropping to the 3rd rounds, am I missing something on this kid? I know the bed combine and works, along with the high body fat, but he went in the 1st to the Titans which is a good situation. Any reason I should pass in the mid second round?

Side note most of the guys skipping him really do much FFootball research just base it on what they saw in the actual draft and what Kipper says.

Thanks

If you can get Kendall Wright in the 2nd, draft and don't look back. You'll probably have to sit on him for a year or two, and he'll be sharing targets with Britt.
QB: Brees, Ryan
RB: J.Taylor, K.Hunt, R.Jones, Dillon, McKinnon
WR: D.Adams, T.Hill, A.Rob, Lockett, Anderson, P.Campbell, C.Samuel
TE: Kittle, Olsen, D.Sample
DL: Ngakoue, E.Griffen, J.Sweat, Bowser
LB: Mosley, D.Jones, Warner, Treviathan, R. Evans, Okereke, M.Harrison
DB: J.Johnson, T.Mathieu, T.Walker, J.Jones, X.Woods

TEN was a weird landing spot for him as people weren't expecting him there, but he's still easily a great value for you in Round 2. Having Britt there should help take pressure off of him, at least during the times when Britt is playing and isn't suspended or in jail :D

He has been going in the 1.08 to 1.10 spot in all my drafts so far.

Kendall Wright shows flashes.. no question. But the titans landing spot really really hurts him. i have him as my 14th prospect including landing spot

1.13 in my 16 team IDP league. Nothing abnormal.

I just got him with the 1.12 and I was very happy to get him there.

He's draft fodder, just like golden Tate was. I like seeing him go in front of me.

I'm not going to repeat everything I've already said about Kendall Wright on the existing Kendall Wright threads.

I really don't understand the obsession some folks around here have with creating multiple, redundant threads.

Interesting opinion. I see a much more dynamic player in Wright than I ever saw in Tate. Also, I think Wright is a better route runner at this point in his career compared to Tate coming out of college, as well as being quicker in space. Time will tell obviously, but I have them in considerably different tiers as prospects.

I'm not sure how I feel about Wright at the moment. During the season I was pretty high on him having watched a bunch of Baylor games to watch RG3, it was hard not to notice Wright. As time has gone on though, I don't know if I'd be willing to invest a pick on him. The reports of his body weight at the combine concerns me. The 40 time is a non-issue for me because I always held the belief that he played much faster than he timed. I'm more worried about a poor work ethic. I've seen some of the most highly touted prospects fail because of a poor work ethic. I see guys like Justin Blackmon who might not have the most impressive measurables either, but I've read countless stories about how hard he works to improve and I gravitate towards that type of person.

It certainly is the popular thing to do. Maybe a sticky referring to the practice of a single player named thread to consolidate information?
