Trade R Rice for Godwin

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade R Rice for Godwin

Postby Dude_Abides » Tue Feb 18, 2025 9:53 am

Team in sig. Have been offered the following: Give R Rice & 2.02 & Receive Godwin, 1.08, & 4.02
Both WR are coming off injuries & Rice may have some sort of suspension.

If accepted, 2025 picks: 1.02, 1.08, 1.09, 1.10, 2.05, 2.06, 4.01, 4.02, 4.03, 4.07, 4.09, 5.02, 5.09.
A few teams needing draft picks, so could look to package a number of 4th/5th rd picks to try & move up to a 3rd rd pick or 2, or grab a few players for depth.

What say you, Dynasty Guru's!! :D

4 year age gap is greater than the pick upgrade here. I'm prob more bullish on Godwin than most but I'm easily holding Rashee. The suspension will be annoying but having Mahomes is a great situation. Who knows where Godwin will be for his age 29 season... still has some in the tank but I'm not making this swap to move up 6 spots. I do get the allure though and the 1.08 could rise in value after the draft.

Keep Rice. He was the PPR WR2 overall over the first 3 weeks prior to getting hurt. His injury ended his season, but it's not expected to be a long term ailment. With Kelce aging Rice is primed to take over the short to intermediate targets in that offense, which is fantasy gold.

Godwin also had a hot start to the season, but he's 4 years older and where he plays next season is a question mark. Not worried at all about a Rice suspension, as it's going to be a drop in the bucket as far as dynasty is concerned.

I am also bullish on Godwin. Do agree on the age difference & location of where Godwin will play as a concern. In talks for the 1.01, so 1.08 could come into play & allow me to not have to deal someone like C Brown or McCarthy in a trade. Does that sway your decision either way?

I would have to better understand the big picture of what you'd give for the 1.01 but it could change my opinion for sure. With your QB room, I'm fine moving off JJM right now. There are a lot of question marks there still and I love the idea of getting value now and mitigating risk.

1 offer sent to me: JJ, C Brown, Spears (he has Pollard), 1.10 , 2.06 for 1.01, 3.10, 2026 2nd rd, & Kupp.
His QB: Geno, Penix, Cousins, Fields. RB: Pacheco, Pollard, R Davis, Hunt, Singletary WR: JJ, AJB, Worthy, Odunze, McMillan, Kupp
He isn't sold on Jeanty at 1.01 & prefers to get a QB &/or RB in a deal + picks. His current picks: 1.01, 3.01, 3.10, 4.02, 4.10, 5.01.

Potential counters off the top of my head:
A: 1.08, 2.06, 4.02, 4.07, JJM, Spears for 1.01, 2nd rd (26'), & Kupp (or 4.10)
B:1.08, 2.06, 4.02, 4.07, C Brown, Spears for 1.01, 2nd rd('26), Kupp

This way I either get to hold onto JJ or C Brown. I know Kupp may be on the decline, but good depth to have, wherever he lands.

26' picks: 1, 2, 3 (2), 4 (2), 5
