That's a good fit on paper, just like it was with the Jets. I think Tomlin wouldn't want Rodgers' disruptive personality in Pittsburgh. He got enough of that with Antonio Brown.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 3:22 am Stelelers have a top end D. I could see Rodgers going there, throwing to Pickens, and Adams who would follow. I think Tomlin has the experience to handle it.
They aren't going to have a better option next year, to try and win a title, and they aren't wanting to rebuild, and play the long game.
2025 Free Agency
Re: 2025 Free Agency
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: 2025 Free Agency
I see Rodgers retiring after he realizes nobody wants him.
Re: 2025 Free Agency
I don't see it either. Would be Tomlins 1st losing season and how he finally gets fired. I think Rodgers most likely route is retirement. Or continue the Favre path and do a year or 2 in MINPac_Eddy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 7:24 amThat's a good fit on paper, just like it was with the Jets. Re: 2025 Free Agency
Please no. I'm all in in JJ McCarthy. Just my opinion.
I do think that Rodgers plays somewhere next year, but man, it's a risk. Whoever misses out on the top rookies + Sam Darnold may have to take that chance.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: 2025 Free Agency
There's no way MIN goes for Rodgers.
I assume multiple teams who miss out on Darnold and rookies will go for Rodgers. I just don't know if Rodgers will opt to play for an awful team, hence retiring. He went to the Jets but that felt different at the time. This time around, he's clearly washed and very unlikely to save a team like the Raiders

I see logic to this, but I'm curious how Rodgers and Arthur Smith would mesh.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 3:22 am Stelelers have a top end D. I could see Rodgers going there, throwing to Pickens, and Adams who would follow. I think Tomlin has the experience to handle it.

Imagining Aaron Rodgers trying to get along with Mike Tomlin AND George Pickens on the same team... boy, that would be some popcorn stuff.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 1:51 pmI see logic to this, but I'm curious how Rodgers and Arthur Smith would mesh.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 3:22 am Stelelers have a top end D. Presumably Arthur Smith would have had a lean on Rodgers when he interviewed for the Jets HC job a month ago. I imagine we'll hear something about that as this continues to unfold.

Steelers kicking the tires on Trevor Lawrence.

Tend to agree. Unless Coen thinks he can turn Justin Fields into Baker Mayfield...

Re: 2025 Free Agency
It's cool that they're trying to trade with a team that doesn't have a GM, of course - that's just sharp! However, it's not going to happen.Shoreline Steamers wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 12:23 pmTend to agree. Unless Coen thinks he can turn Justin Fields into Baker Mayfield...
Big part of the reason Coen took the job: he wants to work with T-Law.

In unrelated news, I have also enquired about the possibility of trading for Sydney Sweeney on the girlfriend market... yet to hear back... I'll keep you all posted...ESPN’s Michael DiRocco reports the Jaguars called any rumors of a Trevor Lawrence trade “ridiculous.”
The Jaguars added that there was “no chance” they would consider trading Lawerence. These comments were spurred by a report earlier in the day that said the Steelers reached out to the Jaguars inquiring about a potential trade for the fifth-year signal-caller. While anything remains possible, the idea of the Jaguars trading Lawrence seems highly unlikely given that he was just signed to an extension last offseason. The Steelers need help at quarterback, with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both set to hit free agency, but early reports are they will attempt to re-sign one of the vets this offseason.
