Trade for RB help or use my picks?

Postby Buckhill Bombers » Fri Feb 07, 2025 11:17 am

So I'm in a 12 team SF Best Ball PPR Dynasty League where I have never won the league after 4 seasons. Trying to make that final push to contend next year. I need to get better at RB. Roster is below, and my dilemma is whether to just keep my draft picks and hope to hit on a few RBs or would you consider this trade?

Give: Vidal, 1.7 and 2.2 rookie picks
Get: Walker III and Dowdle

I will say I'm not a huge fan of Dowdle, yeah he did okay this year but I think everyone expects Dallas to take a RB in the first 2 or 3 rounds. I like Walker but he's obviously had some injury issues and has Charbonnet taking some carries. So would I be better off taking that offer OR keep the picks and hope I can get the 3rd or 4th RB off the board at 1.7 and maybe get another good prospect at the 2.2? (I also have my own 2.7 pick and of course the 3.7 and 4.7 picks) Roster below:

Daniels, Murray, Taysom Hill
Brian Robinson, Pacheco, Mason, Justice Hill, Gibson, Keaton Mitchell, Vidal, Steele
AJB, London, McLaurin, Odunze, Pearsall, Deebo, Meyers, Iosivas, Luke McCaffrey, Dyami Brown, Noah Brown, Dotson, Luke McCaffrey, Van Jefferson, Mingo
Henry, Gesicki, Theo Johnson, Akins

What say you guys about this offer vs keeping my picks?

I think it comes down to how you evaluate KW3 vs the 1.07. Outside of that, I'd much rather have the 2.02 over Dowdle and I don't see Dowdle doing anything next season under a new coach and an almost guaranteed new backfield.

Personally, I think I'd hold the 1.07 and roll the dice on one of the excellent rookie RBs. Walker is really good though and I think the KW3 side of the deal is more valuable. I just prefer 1.07 side given your team makeup. If I'm you, I'm staying young and shopping AJB and McLaurin.

I think that’s a good deal for Walker, and Dowdle did nothing if not look serviceable for whichever team he next plays.

I would take it, but first I would secure a smaller deal for Charbonnet. The combo was around RB6 in 0.5PPR using Walker and the four times we knew Zach would start instead. Charbs is good insurance, and SEA will eventually move one to give you two starters instead.

I'd hold the picks.

I like Walker just fine, but he tends to be injury prone. I think it's possibly, if not likely, there will be a RB at 1.07 that pushes ahead of KW. The picks also offer you flexibility as they are liquid until used. To me, Dowdle is a nothing in this trade. The rookie class, imo, will cover him up no matter where he lands. You don't need to buy RBs right now unless they are truly elite. Wait it out.
