Loyalty does not exist in the NFL, so if given the choice, wouldn't the 49ers say bye-bye to Smith and pursue Manning? Wouldn't Manning choose them over Miami & Arizona + Irsay could ship him out of the conference entirely.

Mannings contract is as close it comes to untradeable. He will either play for the colts, another team, or retire. His 28 million roster bonus is due March 8th.

Though Kevin Kolb's guaranteed money was reported as $21 million when he signed his six-year contract last July, only $12 was guaranteed for both skill and injury.
Another $8.5 million was guaranteed for injury only, and that includes Kolb's 2012 salary ($1 million), March 17 roster/option bonus ($7 million), and an offseason workout bonus of $500,000. While beat writer Kent Somers expects the Cardinals to pay Kolb's bonuses and salary this year, the guaranteed money was inflated by agent-sourced reports.
