Puka offer in inbox, too steep? Edited

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Puka offer in inbox, too steep? Edited

Postby johnnymozart » Wed May 22, 2024 1:44 pm

Was offered puka plus cabbage (gabe Davis and conklin) for my Nico Collins, McBride, and Conner in my rebuild team in signature.

I think that's a bit too much, right? I'm probably higher on Collins than most but it's not often you can acquire someone like this. The other owner is a good fit trading partner that needs to fill out a roster and can do so using a high end asset like Puka but there's little else I care for on his roster outside of his 2026 picks

*Would adding his 2026 1st and my 2026 2nd to deal while leaving the rest the same be enticing enough?

I’m not a fan of Nico, but giving him & McBride up along with Conner is quite a steep price. I’d be asking for some β€˜26 picks to be included

I'd want a 2nd back in return.

I would also much much rather you trade away Andrews than McBride at the TE position. Maybe Andrews & Reed for Puka?

Don't like Nico or Puka, and the value's on the McBride side.

Easy pass.

Too much to ask. Puka is worth more than Nico, but not a top 5 young TE more than Nico.

I'd pass on this. I'd much rather deal Andrews. Maybe Collins + Andrews + Connor gets it done?

No, not to me, this might even make the deal worse.

Conner is worthless, as is the 2025 2nd.
Puka > Trey
Nico > random 2025 1st
McBride + Nico > Puka + '25 1st

Caveat:
I'm not a Puka fan at all and I always say go get your guy, but if you think dude is gonna be averaging 1,500 yards a season I think you're crazy. The Rams literally had nothing at TE/WR last year with Kupp out and ineffective/hurt for the majority of the year. They trotted out scrubs that wouldn't even be on some practice squads.

I'm not saying Puka's trash, just that he got a lot of volume he probably wouldn't have otherwise. He's probably a 100-120 target a year guy max, and that means he's no more valuable than anyone else in the 66-79 catch/937-1122 yards/4-5 TDs range or PPR WR21/WR22 (that's DKM/Addison).

If you think he's truly elite, then yeah, make the deal. The going rate for stud WRs is 3 firsts via picks & players.

Good luck either way.

.5 PPR McBride value goes down a little and I suspect that MHj is going to eat a lot of his targets as he develops.

Personally it may feel like a lot right now but I would pull that trigger. Puka is a stud. Attempt to get a 2nd or 3rd added to the deal

Ending up acquiring Puka + his 2026 2nd (I would wager 2.01-2.06) for Trey McBride and Nico. Love both of McBride and Nico but think Nico takes a stats slide (he's still legit). I had Andrews/Ferguson in a 12 team outside of McBride. Puka to me is ASRB 2.0 and think he will be tied to Stafford for at least next 3 years. Either way, I'm happy with the move even if others think it was silly.
