I am currently in a 14 team SF TEP Start 10 startup draft.
Many of my leagues are TEP, but all have 0.5 as their TEP.
This league has TEP as 1.0, and trying to figure out how much of a difference that extra 0.5 PPR does for TE's.
Is 2.09 (pick 23) too early for LaPorta?
I would NOT take LaPorta that high in 0.5 TEP leagues.

Re: Higher TEP values
That’s an appropriate price for LaPorta in a TE +1 PPR league. I’d hit QBs and TEs early - starting another lower tier TE1 in a flex spot can score more than a lower tier WR1… and trade value is high in a 14tm league).

I took Justin Jefferson in round 1, trying a different tact.Injury Prone wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 10:09 pm That’s an appropriate price for LaPorta in a TE +1 PPR league. I usually value QB's too highly in SF leagues, and last year saw teams with QB rooms of Goff/Stafford, and Baker/R. Wilson/Levis win championships.
So I am thinking of trying one of those builds where they devalue QB's, and get players who can score QB points in other positions.
My QB rooms of Mahomes/Kyler/Love flame out and finish 6th/7th because they are missing talent at other positions.
we'll see, maybe LaPorta doesn't even make it to me at 2.09.

Re: Higher TEP values
This is a risky strategy in a 14 team Superflex league. I'm in a similar 16 team league, and have an insane powerhouse at all skill positions other than QB (due to an awful trade what feels like a lifetime ago). I consistently score the most points and reach the playoffs but can't compete with the team starting Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts... he's won like 8 of the last 10 years.
One example, but just a reminder that we can't name 30 QBs we'd be okay starting every week, so you need to lock up 2 before only 2 teams add a 3rd or you are totally screwed. Daniel Jones ain't winning me any championship lol.

Yes, it is risky no doubt. However, I also can't win with teams with loaded QB rooms, so I figured I'd try a different approach.Menace2010 wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 5:31 am This is a risky strategy in a 14 team Superflex league. In TEP 1.0 leagues, only 10 players outscored LaPorta in that format in 2023, and five of those 10 were QB's.
Other 5 were CMC, Lamb, Tyreek, ARSB, and Evan Engram.
There is a chance that LaPorta could improve on his rookie season, and top 13 QB's were already off the board at 2.09, so I took LaPorta.
It's basically a game about scoring points.
Whether you get those points from your QB slot, WR slot, RB slot, or TE slot is rather irrelevant, IMO.
I mean if I can play a TE who outscored QB6 in 2023, that's not bad for pick 2.09 in a 14 team SF league
TEP also magnifies the differences between TE's.
In non TEP, TE1 outscored TE10 by 88.8 points. 239.3 to 150.5
In TEP = 1.0 leagues, TE1 outscored TE10 by 120 points. 343 to 223.
Sure it's a gamble, but we'll see.
