Apparently there was an incident at SMU that was sort of swept under the rug with this guy too. No charges, but teams were aware of it, and many had him off their board, or way down because of it.

FWIW - He goes on to say he's a dynasty buy, there are reports it was a verbal altercation (no contact) and that there's no precedent for 12+ games.

I think this is one where folks can create whatever narrative they want. Only thing that matters is what the result is AFTER the appeal. (Or if KCC cuts him).

It depends on your risk tolerance. The reports aren't from anyone credible, on the no contact, I'm not trusting the sources that have put that out there.

There's also smoke about an SMU incident, which teams knew about it per Pro Football Talk, and a few others, and if you look back at the scouting reports, there were character concerns, and quotes from NFL personnel about him "not being a good dude".

I tend to steer clear of players with off field history and issues. For me, with so many WR's you can roster, that produce, I'm rather not pursue Rice.

There's of course, also the possibility he goes to jail, if convicted of some of the charges he's facing. Leaving the scene with injured people is a felony, and no joke, especially since he caused the accident, and appeared to orchestrate a street race with 2 of his vehicles.

Not saying it's probable, but the Dallas DA has a chance to set an example with a high profile case on street racing, who knows what he'll push for?

Regardless, I think for me, this guy has shown enough, that I am not considering him a dynasty buy, at this point.
