IDP scoring is balanced with offensive scoring and not just an afterthought. Defensive players receive 6 points for interceptions and sacks, 3 points for forcing a fumble another 3 for recovering, 3 for any blocked kick or defending a pass. A strip sack fumble recovery for a touchdown is an 18 point play.
