WR help

Postby WorldBowl » Thu May 02, 2024 1:12 am

Hello! First time posting here. Have been looking at my team for a long time and feel like I've lost all perspective. Could do with a few different ideas/ways of thinking. I'm looking to compete again this season and feel my roster is not too far off but I could really do with some help at WR. I'm torn between taking my chances on young WRs like Coleman, Worthy (but doubt he falls to me), McConkey, Pearsall vs proven vets, such as Evans and Diggs (too much competition for targets for the latter?).

12 team 0.5 PPR SuperFlex

Picks: 2024 2.01, 2.02, 3.01, 4.07
All my own 2025 picks

QB: Lamar, Goff, Mayfield, Hooker
RB: Breece, Saquon, Swift, Aaron Jones
WR: London, Amari Cooper, Godwin, Kirk, Shakir
TE: Andrews, Likely, Kraft

How do people see my lineup? Is it good enough to go for it with vets or should I try to be more cautious and perhaps add more young talent at WR?

Thanks!

If it was me I'd go with the rookies. You'll have some combo of Pearsall, Coleman, Mitchell, Legette, maybe even one of BTJ/Worthy/Ladd if they drop (BTJ dropped to 12 in one of mine).

For sure rookies. At these picks just take BPA in your draft slots. Your don’t control anything that happens in front of you in the draft (unless you trade up). So sit back and let the value come to you.

Don’t use the mindset of cautious because that will permanently make you a middle of the road team and you don’t want that. In order to compete this year you will need some of your WRs like Cooper, Godwin and Kirk to have better than average seasons. I would say build for the future with BPA and enjoy the ride.

Given you have the 2.01/2.02, I agree with the above comments that I'd probably just sit back and see what falls. For SF I'm pretty excited about the players from the 1.01 to about the 2.05. After that it's entering the data throw zone.

I'd roll that team out and see what happens through week five or six. If things break your way and you seem competitive, great. If not it might be time to consider a bit of a "refresh" vs. a full rebuild.

Thanks everyone for the replies, that's really helpful. Well that's now 3/3 saying go with the rookies so I might just do that! Like I said, I'd been thinking this over so long that I felt like I'd lost any perspective of where my team is. I have done a lot of work on this rookie class so now it's time to reap the rewards. Let's just hope I've learned my lesson after picking QJ last year, ha (though I did manage to sell before his value dropped too much!).
