What really gets it for me is the same owner 1 month earlier offered me 2.08, 2.12 for the 1.10....so his offer got worse lol.

Similarly, when you trade say 1.03 and 1.04 for 1.01….and an owner offers you 1.05 and 1.12 for 1.01. Why would I want worse picks than what I gave up.

I don't think your offer was offensive, but it was low-key sly. The trick in your offer is the guy is not a contender before the trade, and would only be a marginal contender after the trade. Meanwhile, he dumps one of his only two halfway viable TEs in a TEP league. Not to mention he throws away the opportunity to add a good young QB (Daniels) for the privilege of having old-man Cousins for a year until Pennix takes over.

It's not that your offer was terrible. I mean, it does include CMC. However your offer to that roster would have required the manager to be kind of clueless to accept.

I think CMC+Cousins is an offer that should made to a team that is already a contender, needs a QB, and is ready to go all-in on a realistic push. That other guy's roster is missing a couple of high-quality assets to be ready for this trade.

I get that you want the picks. I'm just saying that other guy should not make the trade based on his roster.

You got the first part of the trade right: You found assets you want to acquire.
You got the second part right: You found players/assets on your team to make an acceptable opening offer.
You missed the third part: You did not identify a team that would materially benefit from making the trade.

Your proposed trade gives you what you want. Your proposed trade does not make the other guy a contender, and it deprives him of needed youth (the two picks and Mayer).

I think the type of offer you made would get a better reception from a true contender who needs an extra boost to go all in.
