"#Chiefs star Travis Kelce’s contract extension tacks on two years and $34.25 million to the two years remaining on his old deal, per sources.

It’s a new contract, not extension, just thru ‘25
Creative Accounting. Something the MLB has never learned how to do!
Not really. As yinzername noted, it's nothing creative: it's simply a new contract. They tore up his current contract that pays him about $30 mil for 2024 and 2025 and gave him a new one for around $34 mil for 2024 and 2025. That does two things:

1) Effectively ends retirement conversation through 2025.
2) Makes him the highest-paid TE in the league (just by a smidge).

TL;DR -- Kelce simply got a raise to play for 2024 and 2025.

Zay Jones released. I own him all over the place. I wonder if he has any juice still and can be productive on a new team?

Hard to say, but it's hard to see this as anything but disastrous for his fantasy outlook. Right now, I'll put him slightly above Gallup on the lost WRs sliding scale. A little more hope for *something*, but not any real hope.

I guess I should also mention that some of my favorite leagues are my 30 roster dynasty best ball leagues. Zay has been extremely useful in those. Especially towards the end of 2022. I have Gallup in a few as well and hopefully he will provide some random spike games

I love AJB, but he seems like the type of player that won't age gracefully into his 30's. I could be wrong, but the Eagles giving him that extension, is pretty risky IMO, and the cap hit he's going to take from age 30-32 seems rather high for what they might get by then. I'd love to be wrong. Maybe he's more TO than Dez, in the aging department.

Foodie. Mild sauce goes in the trash. Well done steak goes with it.

Habaneros make the best hot sauce. Throwing a bunch of random stuff on top of fries doesn't mean you call it "poutine".

I highly doubt we see this contract live out until 2027 without some kind of restructuring. Even then, the dead cap is manageable once he's 31. Still a ways to go for him, but no signs of slowing down yet

Worrying about things that are 3 years away whilst a player is still in his prime is peak #dynasty

Yeah relax everyone. I would never worry about a player’s value so prematurely

I guess. The dead cap is high at age 30 though. It's just his style of play, I'd have some concerns but he may be more TO than Dez, who knows. Will be interesting to see how paying a QB and 2 WR's top dollar works out.

I'm relaxed, and I personally don't care about calls from the peanut gallery. It's nothing more than a mild annoyance, and it's simply a guess due to his style of play, and his past knee issues. He could be great into his 30's, but I do have concerns. It will be interesting to see how paying a QB and TWO WR's big money will work out for Philly.

In real life, at a fantasy draft, when someone has a different opinion about a player and drafts him two rounds before you would have ... you laugh, take the player you liked better, and feel good about the difference of opinion. When everyone else has a different opinion about a player and he drops to you three rounds later than you think someone should have taken him ... you rejoice and love the difference of opinions in fantasy football.

However, in a fantasy football forum, when someone speaks the same differences of opinion, some shout at each other and get upset. :problem:
