Trade idea: tier up from Olave?

Trying to construct a deal with a guy based on previous discussions

Thoughts on this offer:

Give: Olave + 1.08 + 3.05
Get: 1.03 + 2.03 + Kendre

I’m trying to tier up from Olave. Trade partner is trying to rebuild and needs a lot of pieces. He’d secure a top WR + likely one of Odunze/Bowers/JJM

I don't mind the idea, but you may be overpaying a little bit.
I'd either keep the 3.05, or look for a better RB than Miller.

PM, so in short you are trying to get a better WR than Olave, but the other owner is in a rebuild and needs a lot of pieces? This would mean you believe that the WR at 1.03 will be better than Olave but sell to the other owner that Olave is better than the WR/QB he would take at 1.03? If it was me and I was in a rebuild, I would prob look at my picks first rather than trading them away.

I'm holding (though I get why you'd make the trade). If you LOVE WR2 in this draft, then go ahead. But I think Olave's a legit WR, and the WR you get at 1.03 would have to be elite to be a tier-up. And 1.08 is a value pick. Heck, WR3 might even be there at 1.08...

So it's fine if you're lower on Olave and high on WR2. I'd rather keep the two assets in Olave and 1.08, though.

I think that’s a very fair offer and if Nabers/Odunze is your guy I think this could get it done. If the other owner is more risk averse I think this could easily work. Olave is a known commodity that has produced at a fairly high level. Plus another shot in the first, I think it may be a slight overpay, but if you love the player and they hit big, the draft is the cheapest they’ll ever be.

It would be Nabers or MHJ at 1.03 for me. Caleb will go in the top 2 picks undoubtedly. 1.02 is a tossup. Tanking team that only has Richardson @ QB, but has some other 1sts so I could see them going MHJ there and then grabbing a QB later (1.05/1.07)

Haha, I don’t think the sales pitch would have to sell that Olave is better than MHJ/Nabers. The pitch would be that you can have a (proven) top-12 WR PLUS another top-8 pick (I think most consider a big tier-break after 1.08)

Agree with others though that it’s a big risk, where the goal is essentially to go from great WR to elite WR

It could definitely be argued that the 1.08 is better spent elsewhere for me. Maybe even just sitting back and taking BPA.

I guess it all depends on how much of a rebuild the other owner is in. If It’s a minor rebuild where he only needs a few pieces to start to be competitive, then I would gladly take Olave. If it’s a full on rebuild, I would prob stick with the rookies.

I think Nabers has the makings of a top 5 dynasty WR. Im not quite sure Olave will ever be that, he will always be a very good WR but not sure he will ever reach that elite status. Id actually be okay making this risk just because I think Nabers potential is a league winner.

olave is on a short list of dudes who get 10+ targets with regularity. 13th most average targets per game in the nfl. dont like this idea one bit personally.

you need nabers to become significantly better than olave (AND 1.08) for this to work out. miller and 2.03 are nice pieces but they don't really move the needle much.

this is fair value for a very narrow range of outcomes.
